Why has Ukraine enjoyed so much bandwidth over the past few years? Our last presidential impeachment involved Ukraine.

Doesn't anyone get a propaganda vibe from all the scrappy can do success of the Ukrainian people? Photos of women soldiers, earrings, makeup and fresh faced?

The unification of Europe? Switzerland abandoning neutrality? Where was this when Putin invaded Crimea?

I feel it incumbent upon me to bash Putin's corrupt ass just I can avoid the incoming attacks of "you're pro-Putin." I most certainly am not, so save the thread from that.

And while contemplating, don't forget:

1. Gulf of Tonkin
2. Evidence FDR knew about Pearl Harbor
3. WMDs in Iraq.

Free country close to a strongman run mafia state that hates it.
If you are old, this is just cold war stuff.

Yeah because a crackhead got on the board of a O&G company with zero O&G experience which never happens outside of quid pro quo situations. Trump wanted an investigation.

There is some of that.
Ghosts of Ukraine was a video game creation.
The beauty queen with an airsoft gun.
The Russian troll farms are out in force as well with their get rid of Nato stuff and how the US is racist and destroys countries.

2014 was a big of a shock for everyone. Remember, Crimea was after the Ukrainian people had booted their pro Putin strongman.

This is what Robert Strange McNamara called "The Fog of War."

1. Gulf of Tonkin
Yep
2. Evidence FDR knew about Pearl Harbor
Navel Problem #10 I believe (Titan check me on that #)
3. WMDs in Iraq.
Iraq vets said we found them.
The Boston bombers had WMDs too.

Non need to make it into any more of a conspiracy than it already is. It was a corrupt and chaotic place where there was opportunity for palms to be greased and money to be made since the fall of the Soviet Union, so that's what happened for many years afterwards.

It's also in a geopolitically volatile location.

I agree.

This was teed up to go down under Hillary.

Russia, Russia, Russia and the Ukraine phone call was projection and gaslighting. Thats obvious to me now.

Now we all just along for the ride.

Whole thing seems scripted with outcome predetermined. Globalists are just going through the motions now.

No one was silent or ok with Crimea invasion. It was a bog deal and a nasty black eye for the West.

As for why everyone is more racheted up now? I also suspect there is some ulterior globalist maneuvering at play that isn't being made clear, but I also don't think energy dependence for Western Europe was as threatened before. Almost certainly just as much about money and power for Western Europe as it is for Russia.

Im with you. I don't trust Commies either.

I remember the Cold War...and you are out your mind if the Russians aren't still bitter that the USA won the Cold War.
Capitalism won in the end because people love money. The USA was wise and knew this...now the people of Ukraine must accept their fate.

There are many fake stories, propaganda, going around - the Ghost of Kiev, the 13 soldiers who died on Snake Island, the bandaged teacher, the video of Russian planes flying over Kiev (it was actually Moscow), Zelensky visiting the troops video (which was from over a year ago), the Luhansk Power Station explosion (was actually video from China in 2015). I don't know if it's unusual in times of war, but sorting through the propaganda in an age of instant communication is difficult.

I don't think you're entirely off base, but it's more likely that it's a country with a lot of government corruption on the border of the country that has been an irredeemable enemy for basically the last 70 years.

It seems to me that most of this has been opportunity based instead of long-term preplanning.

Don't forget the Biden's history with Ukraine. Maybe this is just a fight over who gets to funnel dirty money through Ukraine and benefit from it.

The 13 soldiers story was fake? Do you have a link? Had not heard that.

OP, I share the same sentiment. I debated starting a thread like this also. Something just doesn't seem right. I feel like we're watching the first covid videos coming out of China. I just don't know what to believe anymore.

If I had to bet, I would bet that Putin in China have something else up their sleeve.

This thread is going to piss off a lot of the narrative repeaters on the two war threads. But something seems off about the whole thing.

Pretty simple, really. There wasn't much initial outcry when everyone assumed that the Russians would roll over the border and take Kiev in 24 hours. Days later, and the Ukrainians are having more success than anyone dreamed while Putin looks vulnerable. Everybody loves an underdog that fights back.

I'm not sure of your point here. Are you saying that it's not fair to raise Gulf of Tonkin because it was an aberration, or that you believe there actually was a militarily significant battle that didn't involve fishing boats?

Admiral Stockdale spent 7 years in Hanoi. He saw GOT with his own eyes and knew it was bunk.
