Yes there are a multitude of characteristics that separate Bitcoin wholly and completely from everything else.

A blockchain is only as useful and reliable as the code and the network. Blockchains are not all equal and almost none have any real decentralization, which is an aspect of Bitcoin that makes it far more reliable than others. But yes there's lots of room to explore here.

The bitcoin standard is a good primer.

Andreas antonopolous is an excellent teacher as well and has innumerable videos and at least a few specifically on the difference between bitcoin and the rest. I can't recommend a better personality.

What a silly response. Local government spending local tax money is about as far as you can get from socialism. Your ideas on local government funding are to basically pretend the problem doesn't exist. That kind of logic doesn't work.

I am all for using this gas ( energy resource ) instead of literally just setting it on fire. I am glad the size of the problem has attracted smart engineering types to find a solution. Energy is fungible , finding a good use for the resource that is being set on fire will hopefully happen.

Designating the end user of the energy is just stupid. If the energy supply can be brought to where the demand is the energy is not set aside for Bitcoin demands.
The exception would be if mining operation were set up in fields and the flares were used for local power generation at the oil field and Bitcoin was mined there but I don't think that is what the politician is suggesting.

I feel that's exactly the strategy that will be employed. The power gen and Bitcoin mining locations will be driven by the location of the flared gas so as to minimize net infrastructure and operating costs.

I was on board with West but I think it's easy to see he's not a serious candidate at this point. I presume he simply didn't have the $ to run a real campaign.

West does not appear to be running , running for Governor in a general election is expensive BUT
Given his name recognition and the general dislike for Abbott he could be out there and could get in a runoff without spending a ton of money

But we're a month from the primary and as best I can tell he is doing next to nothing. He's effectively not in the race imo.

Unless you know there is a primary and are actively looking, I just don't see the general public getting engaged which is unfortunate. You can find plenty of town halls, forums, and videos for the challengers (prather, west, huffines) but you have to give a damn.

I was in Prosper last night to listen to West but there were probably only 150 people there and the only way i found out about it was on the events link on West's campaign website.

Interesting to note at least 60-70% of the attendees answered the question of "did you move to Texas from out of state in the past 5-6 years"

I'm voting and endorsing Don Huffines

Huffines is doing a lot of radio commercials in the Houston market. I don't watch much local TV so can't really comment on that .

Imo, in a state the size of Texas you don't stand a chance without tv and radio commercials. Town halls and videos just aren't going to do it.
