Mentioned in the Rittenhouse thread I was expecting his defense to use the same chart. O'Mara used this in the Zimmerman case. It's pretty much the only thing I still remember from the trial. Good visual.

I'd guess someone being overwhelmed realizing they're about to have to lock this guy up for a real long time. Maybe sorry for his kids.

While are at break a few thoughts.

Good trial lawyers compose their closing statements first and then work back from there making sure to introduce all required elements counters to all required elements.

What B'Ivory has been talking about for most of his closing was explaining or attempting to explain what his client said while on the stand. Seriously doubt that's the way he had drawn that up in his head.

Judge comes back in and says younger female juror is very ill and he has designated her as the alternate and excused her. So now the remaining 12 are the jury.

Judge orders defense and state to wrap up closing now.

Defense is still talking. Been an hour, excluding the break for the ill juror. Thirty minutes left according to judge's instruction.

Finally. Defense ends their closing.

State back up for rebuttal. He has an hour and ten minutes left but doubt he'll go that long.

State is done. Judge giving the final generalized instructions to the jury before sending them to deliberate.

So we are on verdict watch.

I agree with what the analysts are saying though. He's a winner regardless of the outcome. He will be on national networks talking up the case as if it's some sort of injustice and the mass media will eat it up. Unfortunately a lot of defendants are going to start trusting him to defend them and/or work with him on the civil side.

Ben Crump doesn't try cases, either. And he's certainly never been a criminal defense attorney.

One thing is sure, B'Ivory will never be another Johnny Cochran. Cochran was actually a pretty good lawyer.

Reports are they have a question. We'll see what they say.

There is a question from the jury. So Judge has to summon the attorneys and tell them what is the question and his proposed answer to them. He will likely respond to them in writing and then make a record on it later.

Maybe asking for more copies of instructions. Just a guess.

Asking for the enhanced video that shows the shooting.

Judge says they can only see it once. Saying they played it a million times during the trial.

I agree but guess some jurors are arguing on what it shows or doesn't show. But replaying it likely won't change many minds.

I can't really can't see anything from that video.

Some juror is going to hold out saying they can't see it clearly on video therefore they have doubt.

This judge stops right before five everyday. Have not heard anything about the jury being sequestered during deliberations but they usually are.
