I was formerly in # 2 that is served by Crenshaw. The new map puts me in the newly created district 38.
Obviously no incumbent. Primaries are coming up and I'm starting research on who I want to vote for.

Who do we like out of these?
Phil Covarrubias
Alex Cross
Jerry Ford
Brett Guillory
David Hogan
Wesley Hunt
Roland Lopez
Damien Mockus
Mark Ramsey
Richard Welch

The only one whose name I recognize is Wesley Hunt.

Wesley hunt is all hat no cattle, couldn't bother to show up to a debate. He also let Lizzie win because his wife was having a baby. Will Hurd 2.0

Never heard of any but Hunt. So let's go by names.

The first guy's last name sounds like Coronavirus. He's out.

Mock……us is a great name for a politician. I vote for him!!

Wesley Hunt is the correct answer.

If only those things mattered in politics.

i was going to say Wesley Hunt seems like a good dude and the real deal, but Mr. Lahey seems to know more - I doubt he just "let" Fletcher win. A lot of fraud in Harris Co was going to be tough for Hunt... I forgot about the debate Mr. Lahey mentioned - didn't Lizzie and Wesley go back and forth about debate specifics, each backing out of the other's proposed debate requirements or something?

Will hurd worked for the CIA, cremshaw was a seal, mccain was a fighter pilot. All those are great things and I thank them for their service. BUT, that does not give them an excuse for being RINO's. I'd love for him to prove me wrong as I think he will end up winning, but I'm sick and tired of Repubs backing some dude just because they served.

Hunt rubs me the wrong way. Could be his establishment endorsements like mccarthy and haley. It's like the establishment picked him for us rather than we pick for ourselves. I also question if he is truly conservative.

Lopez seems off to me. Ramsey kinda old.

I like Hogan ok. I also like Guillory's education plan and his focus on fighting the culture war. Both are grassroots, not bought, and have no interest in becoming career politicians. I could be crazy, but at this point, I'd rather have a regular guy represent me than a politician. Haha

Wesley should start going by "Mike". He could then put "Wesley "Mike" Hunt" on the ballot. He's get every vote from 18-35.

I'm sticking with Wesley Hunt. Hope he doesn't turn out to be a fake politician. Trump endorsed him, but then again Trump makes lots of bad initial decisions on people.

You gotta love Alex Cross.

Straight from Wikipedia:
Quote:

Alex Cross is an African American detective and psychologist based out of the Southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C. He started in the homicide division of the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department (MPDC), but eventually becomes a Senior Agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Cross returns to private psychology practice, but continues to work with the police as needed, ultimately rejoining the MPDC as a special consultant to the Major Case Squad.

Cross is a highly intelligent, rational man who holds his emotions in check. He is a model father and quite empathetic in dealing with the public. He is very involved in the community, exemplified by his volunteerism at St. Anthony's Parish. Despite the fact that he makes a decent living, he chooses to live in the Southeast quadrant of Washington, D.C., an area notorious for poverty and violent crime.

Guess I'm missing something....This guy lives in the swamp and is trying to run for congress in Texas?
No way in hell I'd support him.

what if I told you he was raised by his grandmother, Regina "Nana Mama" Cross. The two have a strong relationship with each other. Regina raised Alex by using tough love to build his character. She allowed Alex and best friend Sampson to be held in a jail cell after they robbed a store, to teach them a lesson. She expressed her love for him from time to time, extending into his adult years. She comforted Alex when his wife died, having him move back in with her and helping him raise his children. She worries for Alex as he pushes on his cases. She tells Alex that she doesn't want to see his children become orphans.

I get it. he does have some downside. one man he arrested, Gary Soneji was raped and now has a terminal disease, sending Soneji on a killing spree. Gary goes after the man who raped him, but Cross blocks him leading to a chase in a subway. Gary reveals he has a bomb and Cross shoots him. Gary falls down and the bomb goes off, setting Gary on fire, killing him.

Wesley Hunt is a chronic no show at candidate events, same as he was in 2020. He's considered to be the candidate backed by the Washington establishment.

Everything in this statement is false.

My city hosted a candidate forum in 2020 and it was Lizzie who did not answer the bell. Wesley showed up and answered every question thrown at him. With aplomb, I might add.
I am the mayor of an enclave municipality in a highly populated county in Texas. I post on TexAgs somewhat regularly under another username.

I have created this profile for use during the COVID-19 situation to provide one persons local government perspective.

I'm just going from the Rogan interview and what I read from him in 2020 but he seemed like a grounded dude. I'd be happy to vote for him over my rep (John Carter)
