Old news sure but never saw this hearing from back in September. For lawyers wondering how and why the trial worked out the way it did, this will set that stage.

For IANAL types, will explain much more of the process in criminal pretrial proceedings that determine the course of the trial.

Yes, it is long, very long. But very interesting in showing how the defense set their narrative and how the state, Binger, dropped the ball. My estimation of Judge Schroeder rises immeasurably during this hearing.

So FWIW.

The work you do with this stuff and during the Rittenhouse trial doesn't get enough credit. Thank you!

Thanks and all but in case you can't tell, trial lawyers can get obsessive about cases. That's what make them better than average lawyers. But...

Obsessive doesn't always translate into "in love" with their view of the case they are presenting.

Binger and Krauss are both pretty damn bad at their jobs. Because they brought a case against Rittenhouse that they knew they would have to cheat to get a conviction.

It is this hearing which solidifies that.

If anyone watched the trial and wondered how screwed up Binger really is, this will remove all doubt. He was making arguments in favor of the defense at several points.

He's unhinged because he knew he had a loser case.

WOW! Binger sends emails but refuses to give the actual evidence to the defense and admits that to the court.

BTW: Dominic Black, Kyle's friend who bought the AR has reached a plea deal, down to a misdemeanor of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Two grand fine. A misdemeanor. Black can keep his guns.

That's good to hear, wondered if they would try to ruin his life for retribution

Binger charged Black with two or more felonies just...well for little reason other than to compel him to testify about the gun charge that the judge threw out before the case went to the jury.

That's on the judge. He should have thrown out the bogus gun charge from the get go .Allowing that charge to remain during trial gave the prosecution more leeway than they should have ever had.

And Binger and Krauss are both unethical and actually incompetent lawyers.
