You misread Tucker's take, his beef is congress easily drops $33M for Ukraine's security when that same $33M would have built the border wall Trump wanted. Yet our congress fought him tooth and nail on our own security (which they are sworn to defend) but readily spend that and more amounts on Ukraine's security. It is ridiculous.

I didn't misread anything. I posted a tweet from someone commenting on a logically distinct point from that which you're highlighting. I didn't editorialize.

10 less than the 50 French "senior officers" holed up in the Azul steel plant, and that one merited its own thread.
Probably can't run with a new thread based on your own sarcasm though.

Excuse me for assuming that your posting it meant you thought it was worth repeating.

No. You went off on a tangent about something neither the tweet nor I addressed which is funding for border security. That is a logically disparate subject from Ukraine. The tweet said:

"Tracey continues to have some of the worst takes on the RU-UA War. According to him, UA should probably just stop fighting & let Putin conquer the country in whole or part. It would end the war, after all."

"One day Tucker might surprise me & invite a guest on to cogently articulate the case for US indirect involvement in this conflict. B/c a defanged Russia is in our interests. His neverending series of like-minded guests has unfortunately continued nonstop since the war began."

Now, point out how your response was directly and logically applicable to that statement. You said:

"You misread Tucker's take, his beef is congress easily drops $33M for Ukraine's security when that same $33M would have built the border wall Trump wanted. Yet our congress fought him tooth and nail on our own security (which they are sworn to defend) but readily spend that and more amounts on Ukraine's security. It is ridiculous."

Prioritizing Ukraine defense with no apparent end at the expense of US security is not a tangent. But you knew that.

What I know is that they're logically separate points. We've been neglecting funding for border security long before Ukraine funding was a thing. Clearly funding Ukraine is not what's preventing us from allocating funding for border security or addressing it more aggressively. Both are possible and neither is linked.

But then you knew that. Or, as a degreed individual, you should.

Border security is a Red Herring when discussing the Ukraine situation as one does not logically preclude the ability to, or benefit of accomplishing the other.

The Ukrainians are using art as a counter weapon to the Russian invasion has been pretty spectacular. It gets almost no play time on American News, but on Reuters, DM and European news channels they have been showing the Ukrainians using art showings all through Europe to reinforce they are a country, with culture, free will and was thriving to be more like Western Europe.

IMO it appears to be very affective.

Michael Tracey's delicate sensibilities are now offended by American military contractors voluntarily sacrificing their lives to fight for the life and freedom of others. Ask me how surprised I am. What sad little *****.

No Nazis here:

Quote:

KYIV, Ukraine The heist started when a mysterious man in a white lab coat showed up at the museum.
A squad of Russian soldiers stood behind him, with guns, watching eagerly.
Using long tweezers and special gloves, the man in the white coat carefully extracted scores of special gold artifacts more than 2,300 years old from cardboard boxes in the cellar of a museum in Melitopol, a southern town in Russian-occupied territory, Ukrainian officials said. The gold items were from the Scythian empire and dated back to the fourth century B.C.

Then the mysterious expert, the Russian soldiers and the gold disappeared.

Russian troops in the occupied city of Melitopol have stolen all the equipment from a farm equipment dealership -- and shipped it to Chechnya, according to a Ukrainian businessman in the area.

But after a journey of more than 700 miles, the thieves were unable to use any of the equipment -- because it had been locked remotely.
Quote:

Over the past few weeks there's been a growing number of reports of Russian troops stealing farm equipment, grain and even building materials - beyond widespread looting of residences. But the removal of valuable agricultural equipment from a John Deere dealership in Melitopol speaks to an increasingly organized operation, one that even uses Russian military transport as part of the heist.

CNN has learned that the equipment was removed from an Agrotek dealership in Melitopol, which has been occupied by Russian forces since early March. Altogether it's valued at nearly $5 million. The combine harvesters alone are worth $300,000 each.
Quote:

The contact said the process began with the seizure of two combine harvesters, a tractor and a seeder. Over the next few weeks, everything else was removed: in all 27 pieces of farm machinery. One of the flat-bed trucks used, and caught on camera, had a white "Z" painted on it and appeared to be a military truck.

The contact said there were rival groups of Russian troops: some would come in the morning and some in the evening.

Some of the machinery was taken to a nearby village, but some of it embarked on a long overland journey to Chechnya more than 700 miles away. The sophistication of the machinery, which are equipped with GPS, meant that its travel could be tracked. It was last tracked to the village of Zakhan Yurt in Chechnya.

The equipment ferried to Chechnya, which included combine harvesters -- can also be controlled remotely. "When the invaders drove the stolen harvesters to Chechnya, they realized that they could not even turn them on, because the harvesters were locked remotely," the contact said.

Russia has been doing similar things in Donbas region since they established control. Dismantling industrial and agricultural infrastructure and shipping it back into Russia, leaving the area under their control poorer and significantly dependent on Russian "kindness".

Seven and three are ten, not only now, but forever. There has never been a time when seven and three were not ten, nor will there ever be a time when they are not ten. Therefore, I have said that the truth of number is incorruptible and common to all who think. — St. Augustine
