Probably a safer thing to do that it appears on the surface. Taking out an Indian airliner trying to evac Indian citizens would be a HORRIBLE thing for Russia.

I was a weird kid. For a girl, that is. I read TimeLife books on WWII. The volumes were not thick but were classified between Land Wars (in which theaters and years), Air Wars (ditto) and Sea Wars (ditto.)
