Can't believe I'm having to watch Don ****ing Lemon to get some decent coverage of this

CNN is still hands down the best for live military/war coverage. Don is actually doing a decent job letting the journalists on site do their jobs. This is the first commercial break I've seen in what seems like hours.
It's like they returned to their 1990s self tonight.
Weird huh? A failing news station full of pedos and sexual deviants miraculously resurrects itself and happens to be in amazing position to report on a war halfway across the world after failing to report actual news for decades.

Ukraine just has too many miles of border to defend. And of course the terrain is so invasion friendly. Basically doomed from the start
When I heard there was an amphib force massing off of Odessa it became clear that Kiev was in the crosshairs. They have to defend Kiev from the east, south and north now. Going to have to retreat west and keep supply lines intact and make Russia play a steep blood price.

ETA: Ukrainian command should have already considered and to some degree built a defensible line to the west of Kiev.

Not a Democrat. Plenty of people on this board do. Even in this thread. Go to any Tucker Carlson thread. But thanks.

Just providing information about the conflict without "Biden v Trump" garbage. But for some reason you thought me calling out Putin admirers was Republican or something...

When they cooperated with Saddam?

Must confess, I do miss the Bernie Shaw and Peter Arnett, drunk off of their butts, under a table, ordering a staffer to put the camera and mic out side of a window while bombs rained down on Bagdad. Stayed up all night watching that.

There won't be that kind of coverage on this one.

You can not "admire" nor support Putin and still be of the stance that it is not our biggest problem.

If you can think independently and critically, you can see where Putin is coming from on his right to self-defense. You may not agree with his position, but maybe he knows something you do not?

I listened to it. He feigned lamenting what was happening to Ukraine while lavishing praise on Putin and trashing the current president. Which by the way is below what any president in memory has done to another president during an intense foreign policy showdown. Even Clinton wouldn't undermine Bush while Bush was invading Iraq, and Bush did not undermine Obama during the Afghanistan surge, etc. It weakens our position for the sake of personal political gain.

Self defense is a stretch.
You have to be attacked or face impending attack to use self-defense as an excuse.

Strategically, this is a brilliant move. Unexpected. Weak Europe. Weak America. Weak Ukraine.
He's showing Europe and the world how impotent NATO is
And then rubbing it in the UNs face by claiming self defense.

This is bad news for the world over

Thinking independent and critically, wtf are you talking about? What's the offense from Ukraine that corresponds to a full scale invasion based on self-defense?

NATO needs to ditch Turkey and add Ukraine, then go black flag on the Russians.

Calling it what it is isn't blowing kisses. Putin saw an opportunity and took it because he isn't a useless pants-****ting *****.

He called Putin a "genius" for moving troops into Donbas. I can't think of another U.S. president who has ever kissed ass to a foreign tyrant like that as they invaded a weaker country. We're supposed to stand for democracy. The quotes are sickening to read.

How about you answer for the fact that Putin has made all his gains under Obama and Biden. That is the reality, I could give a sh*t about words. A country was taken over by Putin under your boys watch, not Trumps.

All the bad boys piped down when Trump was President and I miss those days as we stand on the brink of WW3.

Are you sitting in on Putin's daily intelligence briefing? None of us has any idea what may be driving him to claim self-defense.

Maybe he is a blood-thirsty tyrant intent to claim Eurasia for Mother Russia. Maybe he saw what was in best interest for the sovereign rule of Russia and determine a territory where he used to have a puppet government is now run by another puppeteer that does NOT have his country's interest at the front and saw a strategic opportunity.

Again, you can jump to your own conclusions or you can think deeper about why someone is willing to take the actions he took tonight. The dude is motivated, but its foolish to take up for Ukraine like they are Switzerland.

If he goes beyond Ukraine, he runs up hard against NATO borders, and either we Article V Putin's ass into oblivion, or NATO ceases to function in any kind of meaningful way. One or the other.

But at this point I've given up on Putin acting in any kind of logical fashion.

Seriously? Still come across as a Russian sympathizer. Reagan wouldn't let this happen and would be dumbfounded by folks "admiring" a Russian dictator.

I'm not. Neither are you. So how can you "see where he is coming from?"

I haven't seen, heard, sniffed a shred of evidence on his genocide, cries for help, Nazi claims he rolled out to justify today. Hint: the deeper reason isn't self-defense.
