So is the endgame for Russia to take over Kiev, large portions of the rest, (doubt they'll get to Lviv), and then eventually pull out taking the two breakaway regions with them?

Not now, but there's a solid chance he doesn't stop with Ukraine. If he thinks he can get away with the Baltic states and maybe Poland he will try. This just really wreaks of Hitler annexing "ethnic Germans" in neighboring states and invading Poland as the rest of the world sat on its hands. There's a strong chance of an even greater conflict of this isn't nipped in the bud now.

If these reports are true, we are looking at a pretty significant loss of life. A reality that seems to get lost when the talk is just about ships and airports.

I'm starting to wonder if Ukrainians haven't relocated most of their military assets to FAR western Ukraine. Like on the Polish border. This is all seeming very easy and is meeting zero resistance. Like it's purposeful??? Are we setting Putin up?

Wouldn't port be the very last place you would want your navy if you knew war was about to start. Sounds like they were all caught in port and destroyed

Just wondering why we have to wait till tomorrow afternoon to hear our latest sanctions. Why not do something now? Russian troops are advancing into Ukraine as we sit here and if they truly push, this fight may be measured in mere days. Hours count here, and the west dawdles.

Infuriating really. Like watching your friend getting knifed in the street and then going home with a promise to speak out against knives the next afternoon as they struggle against their attacker.

What appear to be Su Ukrainian fight jets over Kramatorsk. At least three passes in past few minutes followed by more explosions. At least two.
