Notice how carefully Biden's handlers wrote his speech on his rollout of sanctions yesterday.

Quote:

"We are prepared to roll out sanctions far and above the sanctions we enforced on Russia in 2014"

In other words basically no sanctions hardly at all in 2014 in fact their so called in sanctions in 2014 caused Putin to go right ahead annex Crimea.

They were very careful not to say the greatest sanctions in history because what he's doing is not even close to what Trump did to Putin and that's the reason Putin never did anything to push the envelope with Trump. I don't know that Putin fears anybody but I know he damn sure respected Trump.

And Canada issssssss…..

"authorizing the deployment of up to 460 members of the Canadian Armed Forces to Operation Reassurance. This involves more troops to Latvia, as well as the deployment of an additional frigate and maritime patrol aircraft."

Not exactly overwhelming. And "Operation Reassurance"? That's about as non threatening as you can get. The French is definitely strong in them…

I'm assuming they are being deployed as Russian assets?

I don't see Putin stopping until he gets to Berlin.
Wait, this is someone's serious take?

Zero chance. Russia's military is significantly stronger than Ukraine..... but they would get absolutely annihilated by any unified military force. The ONLY way they stand a chance in any major conflict would be with all of China or the US might alongside them..... and that's not happening.

IMO, NATO has lost its strength due to a dwindling population and a major shift of the young to socialism.

Hope you are right.

Again, Vlad isn't going to trigger a war with NATO and risk a full conflict. He knows he can take Ukraine since it's not in NATO and nobody wants to risk war by challenging him over it.

It doesn't look like ammo cans to me. More like canisters of some sort of MANPAD.

Putin about to drop Burisma docs? It won't matter if they did..remember when leftists get revealed the facts are ignored due to HOW the documents are discovered. It's kind of like the media's fruit of the poisonous tree doctrine.

Looks like there was a pretty heavy reporting campaign against multiple Twitter accounts yesterday.

Also, the Russian Embassy in Kyiv has taken down their flag.

I think there is a very high likelihood that NATO/Western Europe is perfectly fine with sacrificing Ukraine, even if it's just half of it, for their own security. The Minsk Agreements and Budapest Memorandum mean basically nothing to those involved imo.

anyone notice that none of the mainstream media actually showed the end of Biden's speech yesterday

when he hurriedly shuffles and totters out of the room ignoring all the media's questions?

wonder why that is...

That's been pretty obvious since the beginning of this, frankly. The EU doesn't care about Ukraine and taking them on was always going to cause a war. If you think about it, if they had taken on Ukraine then they would have been forced to put boots on the ground and in the air to actually help fight a war against Russia.

They want no part of that, voluntarily.

This way they can help from afar without really getting their hands dirty. They can say, "Well, we tried but alas we never had agreements in place. Sorry guys."

It will stop in Ukraine. While Putin is ballsy and rash, he's not irrational. We aren't dealing with radIslam here.

Getting Ukraine by itself is a massive win and unique considering it's status and situation that will sustain him through his time as leader I suspect.

The only other move he might try to make is getting that DMZ corridor to Kalingrad.

That's not a step he will take now IMO. If I'm in the Baltics or Poland I know it's coming.

Maybe but they at least can prepare. While Putin can ostensibly roll through eastern Ukraine, the US and the West have already said they are gong to fight a proxy guerrilla war inside Ukraine. I suspect he gets bogged down some in western Ukraine depending on far how he goes.

He's going to lose resources waging this campaign and it will take him some years to build that back up before he could ever even think about trying to take the Baltics and especially Poland.
