Ships full of grain being blockaded by the Russian navy and not allowed to leave port and Russians destroying grain stores. Russians have sunk several merchant ships.

Grain could get to other countries but Russia is deliver preventing it and starving people with no direct connection to this war in order to increase tension, pressure, and chaos. They know what they're doing.

Put an eye on CSPAN today. Getting increasingly sick of the politicization of this bloodbath and the inability to unite for something that transcends political interests and has the potential to negatively impact all political factions in profound fashion if it's not dealt with properly. This shouldn't be that difficult.

There's one wing nut in particular that keeps heckling and calling it all a hoax and I'm forced to wonder how she's made it this far in life without tripping and drowning in the toilet.

Then there are others who keep flinging Trump/Russia aspersions and I wonder if they're the type who have to read the instructions on the back of hand soap.

If our elected representatives are truly representative of our nation's people on the whole… we're soooooo boned.

This is an issue that we need a plan for. Most likely women and children with families in the US but nothing good can come from trying to enter from Mexico.

Haven't had a chance to seek out the bill text yet but reports are that the house voted on a bill that would require the State Dept to report and preserve evidence of war crimes committed by Russian forces in Ukraine if we're in possession of it. Six "nay" votes and they are as follows:

Tom Massie (KY)
Scott Perry (PA)
Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA)
Warren Davidson (OH)
Andy Biggs (AZ)
Paul Gosar (AZ)

Bill Summary and text doesn't appear to be published yet. Note the date the sponsor introduced the bill. The house intel committee appears to have already been provided with corroborating Intel in support of the occurrence of war crimes well prior to 3/29. This in itself tells you a lot about our Intel capabilities.

H.R.7276 - Ukraine Invasion War Crimes Deterrence and Accountability Act

Sponsor: Rep. McCaul, Michael T. [R-TX-10] (Introduced 03/29/2022)

Official Title as Introduced
To direct the President to submit to Congress a report on United States Government efforts to collect, analyze, and preserve evidence and information related to war crimes and any other atrocities committed during the full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine since February 24, 2022, and for other purposes.

Vote record not yet finalized but sole "nay" votes purportedly as follows:

Tom Massie (KY)
Scott Perry (PA)
Marjorie Taylor Greene (GA)
Warren Davidson (OH)
Andy Biggs (AZ)
Paul Gosar (AZ)

Currently, over 30000 people a day starve around the globe but mostly n Africa. That number will increase substantially over the next few months.

The US public interest for Ukraine is starting to fade, excluding left leaning CNN but accordingly, they are reporting Russia is settling into a long term war for eastern Ukraine, as a few of us have been saying all along. Unfortunately, Russia is not depleted and has the means to dig in for years. Wish it wasn't true ain't going to change a thing.

My source for the mindset of Ukraine and Russia is someone I work with, whose MIL lives n eastern Ukraine and has extensive travels there, also a couple of officers in the Israeli army who from day one has been stating target for Russia is eastern Ukraine. Fertile farmlands with the language being mostly Russia and mineral rich. I have no personal knowledge of Ukraine or Russia, only what I read. I have never been n combat or n a large scale military operation. Bombed out cities are heartbreaking to watch but not unexpected, WWII wasn't that long ago.

Yes, Russia does know what they are doing with their wheat, they don't fight fair and we could lose the narrative if Russia starves the third world, it will become a racial problem for us, split us even more than we are. IMO

What I want to happen is irrelevant, I cant wish it different. This is my view what is going on. I am a nobody in all of this, not very politically sensitive and lacking situation awareness as I think this is a board to discuss different opinions therefore I will ignore the emotional posters.

Misinformation is everywhere. Even put out by our government as a "deterrence". Just be careful and vet things before believing everything you read.

As Russia digs in, this is going to be very expensive for their armor. Drones to spot vehicles, mobile artillery to take them out. If units are out in the open and unprotected then artillery again.

Yes they may dig in but I would think attrition would be very high. They can't replace vehicles and the weapons to Ukraine will increase.

The real problem is if the winter grain can't be harvested. That and no replant is what's going to start to destabilize other countries dependent on imports. Call tha Phase 2. Of which isn't direct warfare.

They literally were also trying to push the same exact story using the same exact photo on day 2 of the invasion. People are so gullible.

I love how the first article is a cherry picked news article based on the second one. Also, the first twitter is a screenshot of this RT article, conveniently scrubbed so you can't see any mention of it being RT. That article is also disinformation. As an example it says the NBC article states that Putin being misled by his advisers is made up, but the NBC article actually says that two officials said it was based more on analysis of intelligence, but others said it was verified and vetted.

Release of intel information is always a fun beast, and the article from NBC gives a good detail on when, why, and how the intel community works. The RT article has lots of mini quotes, many paired with things that the quotes weren't referencing. Good example of misinformation in an article attempting to show misinformation is occurring.

That twitter doesn't say anything about it being a current photo. The quote of the mayor is the news. The photo is simply a stock image of what they look like. Same thing every other news organization does. I do wish that news organizations did put a watermark or something that says "stock image for reference" though.

China Begins Buying Russian Coal And Oil In Yuan

Chinese commodity firms purchased Russian coal in local currency in March, and the first shipments are expected to arrive in China this month, according to Bloomberg, citing Chinese consultancy Fenwei Energy Information Service Co. Traders said this coal shipment paid in yuan would be the first since the U.S. and Europe unleashed harsh sanctions severing some top Russian banks from SWIFT.

Traders are also reporting Russian crude bought in yuan. The first Eastern Siberia Pacific Ocean grade crude shipment will arrive at Chinese refiners in May.

We might win a few social media PR battles but ultimately we are going to lose the financial war when the majority of the world rejects the US dollar for trade settlement.......

Calm down, we still have major arrows in the quiver. We can offer security and access to our market. Very few nations have the wealth and consumption ability as the US. We are trending in a bad direction. But we have massive leverage.

Don't buy it yet, Will be interesting to see the text. I fell if there was text that could do it more republicans would have voted nay or abstained.

Edit. Yeah I call B.S. Seems very narrow in scope
