That's sad. Think of all the kids that got their start at Target before moving on to bigger crimes.

Think "iconic" is meant the location, not Target. This store is next to the Metreon, Moscone Center and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. That area was "iconic" but has gone way down hill to the point where many tech conferences are no longer held at the Moscone Center.

There was a guy on joe rogan the other day who wrote a book call "San Fran sicko" or something like that. Left leaning guy, but more of a classic lib, not the intolerable communists that seem to exist now. Anyways, made me hopeful that some of these people are waking up to their terrible policies.

That was a great interview everyone should see. He was involved in a lot of far left community programs which he now concedes did not work and does a good job in his book explaining how the left got it wrong. Interesting how many times he mentioned George soros's influence on all of these policies that it turned out to be disastrous.

It's the waterfall effect, as more stores close, the looters simply move to what remains, thus crime in those stores goes up faster and then they're forced to close faster. Maybe the locust effect.

Walgreens is shutting down stores left and right. So thieves will move to CVS and Target and WalMart. As the losses tick up, they'll have no choice but to close underperforming stores.

Then deserts appear, people can't get their meds, so they complain and suddenly the Mayor or whatever other bozo's start demonizing the companies.

Look at Chicago, after the riots and grocery stores were burned down, Lightfoot said they hope they can get them to return. Because not having these services makes poor communities much poorer.

Something somethings, don't **** where you eat, but we already know they do. There's an app for it.

I was gonna post exactly this. As more stores close their problems will rapidly escalate because the thieves aren't leaving! They'll just be spread across fewer (and probably smaller) stores...making closings accelerate under this stupidity. They (the people who voted for this crap) get what they deserve.

Target just announced via press release that this story was totally fabricated and false and that they are not closing this store.

Quit paying the city, county, state property taxes. Part of the "deal" between a taxed entity and the taxing entity is the protection of the business. One side is failing in their responsibility.

I guess closing the doors is doing the same thing...

Target should franchise these CA stores to the mafia.

We will see how that mass shoplifting works out for the perps when confronted by a bunch of guys with no necks...

I don't feel bad for Target. Target is a Minneapolis based company. They allowed their Minneapolis store to be a prop during the 2020 riots.
Target management is complicit with all the liberal insanity. It is good to see that they are paying financially for the liberal policies that they support.

I don't think this can be stated forcefully enough. These "businesses" worship at the alters of BLM, pay them what amounts to ransom fees, support leftist politicians, and then cry foul when the BLM and leftist constituents either rob them blind or refuse to go in their store because of what side of town they are own (or because it isn't trendy or cool enough). If Target closed tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.
Interestedly, Target HQ is moving out of their downtown offices in Minneapolis.
