EXCLUSIVE: Iconic Target Store on Mission St to Close Amid Shoplifting Tidal Wave

San Francisco Police Department has revealed that the iconic Target on Mission Street between Third and Fourth Streets will be shutting its doors before the end of the year.

"This store loses $25,000 a day to shoplifting," an SFPD officer told the Globe in lengthy, taped interviews conducted this week. "That's $25,000 that walks out the door on average between 9 and 6 every day."

"This store does between $80,000 to $120,000 in sales every day. And they lose 25 of it [meaning $25,000]. Even if they're making 25% profit, the stealing takes that down to zero."

Asked if the presence of armed, uniformed police officers had any deterrent effect on thieves, one officer was blunt in his assessment.

"They don't care. There's no consequences. Literally zero consequences. I've kicked out… I've been here since 9 AM today. I probably have already kicked out eight or nine people and I've recovered a thousand dollars worth of stuff alone off of that. Whether we kick them out, tell them they can't come back, whether I put them in handcuffs and take them down to the county jailthere is no difference. Because they will not be prosecuted by the district attorney. Therefore, there is nothing documented that they can't come back here. You know, they get no time in jail to think about what they did, right? There is zero consequence.

I served on a jury in SF a few years back for armed robbery at a Walgreens (probably closed now) and people there will vote not guilty specifically because the person doing the crime is black. Except for Asians. It's incredible how honest Asians are about hating blacks, I was pretty surprised at how open they were about it.

Trying to prosecute a poor black male for pretty much any smaller crime (robbery, theft, vandalism, etc) in SF is a waste of time and resources. They will never be found guilty, even if prosecuted.

Was a really interesting experience actually. Strangely enjoyable.

I don't feel bad for Target. Target is a Minneapolis based company. They allowed their Minneapolis store to be a prop during the 2020 riots.
Target management is complicit with all the liberal insanity. It is good to see that they are paying financially for the liberal policies that they support.

I don't think this can be stated forcefully enough. These "businesses" worship at the alters of BLM, pay them what amounts to ransom fees, support leftist politicians, and then cry foul when the BLM and leftist constituents either rob them blind or refuse to go in their store because of what side of town they are own (or because it isn't trendy or cool enough). If Target closed tomorrow, I wouldn't shed a tear.

There was a guy on joe rogan the other day who wrote a book call "San Fran sicko" or something like that. Left leaning guy, but more of a classic lib, not the intolerable communists that seem to exist now. Anyways, made me hopeful that some of these people are waking up to their terrible policies.

The location was supposed to be some kind of ideal prototype urban location, that is what I think they meant by "iconic". Urban planners dream of densely populated neighborhoods with everything you need in walkable distance; it's is their utopian fulfillment.

They're also universally in favor of centralized control of everything and look way down their noses at suburbanites and the unmentionables that produce their food in the hinterlands, so they vote for things like decriminalizing theft and sh_tting on sidewalks. So even where their nifty ideas almost work, the rest of their delusions tend to make it unlivable.

I don't know, I've heard Asians hate blacks and maybe they said something to you that confirms this but going by what you wrote, you have people who will not convict a black person that commits a crime and Asians that do convict black people if they commit a crime (as they should), and your take away is that convicting black people who commit crimes must be because of hate?

The same thing happens DAILY at Houston area Home Depot and Lowe's stores to name a few. People just walk out with stuff and employees are not allowed to pursue. They only can call the police and report the paper license plate number…
