Oh my. Of all the celebrities we've lost over the years, this one somehow hit my like a ton of bricks.
I couldn't stand his comedy in my teens and twenties. But as I got older I grew into his material and delivery. His deadpan delivery can't be replicated. A ton of SNL guys have tried to do it, but it always felt like they were trying to shield themselves from a bad joke. Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers come to mind.
Norm's best bit, by far, was his Alcoholics Anonymous routine.
