Those polls have been saying that for 2 weeks, yet Newsom is campaigning as if he is behind. So he doesn't believe them.

He wouldn't be doing that if the polls were, in his view, accurate. I think they are oversampling democrats and younger voters. Neither will turn out. He may slide by but it will be closer than what the polls say.

Elder would win if the election was fair. I don't think it will be a fair election though.

Interesting divergent in poll numbers on the 25th if you look at the link I posted. Not that I think it matters in the grand scheme of things.

He will win this going away cheating or no cheating.

Bringing in the big guns.

Soo, which is closer to the truth? Team Newsom knows they have this in the bag, whether that assurance is through polling or the planned cheating* so having Kamala, Biden and Obama campaign for him is no risk to their political capital? "See? Biden and Harris aren't toxic, still have their political capital because Newsom won!"

Or Newsom's internals show him in more trouble than expected and thus the perceived need for "an assist"??

The cynic in me says it is the former.

*Allowing ballots to come in and be counted up to 17 days after the election is just blatant cheating.

I still find it hard to believe that Obama would 1) get involved at all if there was no reason to and 2) potentially be seen as helping a losing cause if there is a risk Newsom goes down.

But I will concede that may be wishful thinking. I still think, however, it will be closer than the polls suggest.

Most of the population in California like being liberal, been that way for decades.

Elder is not a good candidate to win the state. Need someone like a Jon Voight, Hollywood Republican.
