The cops are on the cops side. Many would resign, but most will do what they are told. Our rural sheriffs have been our saving grace so far.

Most of the time cops are on our - law abiding citizens - side.

When citizens are at odds with tyranny - in a sadly ironic twist - officers (who are citizens themselves) find themselves opposing their countrymen.

It would take an officer of incredible character and wisdom to step down in a situation like this. And after doing so, I doubt he'll ever be able to work in law enforcement again.
