I take it that's a body wedged in the landing gear. I'm guessing he didn't think about temps and oxygen levels at altitude.

So tragic. Not least because he had some shot in hell of the desperate maneuver succeeding. If he somehow stayed clear of the gear drawing it back up into the plane, he might have been able to attract attention for them to open the wheel nacelle and get him out. Depends on the altitude and the physical structure of the landing gear nacelle.

I would wager to guess these people who jumped on the outside of the plane probably thought it was like a train and they'd be able to hold on, with no knowledge of the speed, altitude, and temperatures.

It is FACT that several people were clinging to the aircraft as it lifted off, and we saw them falling to their deaths like the 9/11 imagery. All fact.
So it makes 100% sense that one or two were successful in clinging to the obvious choice of the landing gear in hopes of being drawn in, only to meet this fate.
Really have no reason to doubt it.

Engine is way on top. You don't see the foot and leg at about the 3:15 pm position of the photo, with the other leg clearly visible beside it but more to the lower center of the photo?

Only reason someone would do this would be that worse was awaiting him if he had not. He had nothing to lose if he failed.
That is insane. Google airplane Kabul falling. Tons of still photos and videos of when they were on the tarmac. Saw at least 5-10 people clinging to the side of the plane, where the landing gear opened up.
