Those would've been helpful about 10 days ago. Not sure what we plan to bomb now while the Taliban are holding 10k American hostages in Kabul who they clearly intend to keep.
Right. The real enemy to the military getting people out is not in Kabul, but on the east coast.

Seems like we have had MC130Js over the area pretty constantly yet I have not heard of them firing. Those are much better than a B2 in close support missions but I wouldn't mind a JDAM being dropped on the Taliban with one of those.

Agreed. No need to employ the B2 against the Taliban, assuming they don't possess or at the very least begin to know how to operate any advanced radars or SAM launchers that we left behind. BUT... possibly speaks to some interesting cross-border or other covert operations taking place in the region. Also entirely a coincidence that they were spotted in Iceland... could be routine patrols / deployments to and from Europe, etc.
Maybe, I thought last time they flew to Iraq/Afghanistan they stopped by Diego Garcia or somewhere in the Pacific going to and from the US.
Employing B2's only to show they mean business and it makes for a good leak.
Maybe it is as simple as they are crossing Iranian airspace.

Many times they just fly direct from Whiteman AFB in Missouri, get their bombs on target, and return without landing... refueling several times inflight, of course.
