I don't think this will work out that way. Russia likely has good roots in Northern Afghanistan and I think that Russia fears China much more than people realize. Those 2 may sometimes act like friends but they are enemies. Russia will not give up such a critical and profitable resource like lithium to the chinese.

Sounds like intelligence is admitting there's no way to evacuate all Americans by 8/31, Biden will have blood on his hands. Also discussing the absurd quantity of advanced weaponry left in the hands of the Taliban and Taliban now has more Blackhawk helicopters than 85% of the countries in the rest of the world.

They also mentioned Taliban having biometric data on all Afghans who assisted US.

Please remember Trump 'stuck us' with leaving. But in 7 months they didn't bother to do a head count and locate where or how many American's are in Kabul (not even considering the rest of Afghanistan).

That falls completely on the State Department. The DoD should have counts of where their military personnel are.

But you cannot formulate a plan without some basic data. So they didn't form a plan. The enemy neither respects nor fears Biden. And this is what worst case scenario is.

ETA He's been warned for MONTHS that State needed to get their **** together add start identifying and evacuating SIV's, and they continued to drag their feet. He drug his feet in not taking any action, having any sense of urgency, or preparing for the worst case scenario.

In a word, Biden and his admin procrastinated, and now they have way too much to do and not enough time or people to do it.
