Wish we would put the weapons to use instead of using it to gather intel with all of its fancy surveillance stuff on board.

If the soldiers and Marines are not pulled out before this alleged taliban cockfight, I'd expect them to protect themselves.

I just finished a book called The Last Stand of Fox Company which covers the Marines fight at the Chosin reservoir. Maybe I'm a little too fired up about it.

I had to look up that movie. Apparently it is total bullcrap. We actually landed a total of six (6) Marines. Two at one embassy, four at another. Though he did park a crap ton of warships in the harbor. Nothing like that clip happened, though it is pretty cool.

And the actor on the balcony has terrible trigger discipline.

Raggity Anne clarifies they are getting the Americans "who want to come home" and not "stranding" anyone.

If you don't/can't get to the airport, you obviously didn't want to get home.

State Dept has no effin' clue of how many American's are even in Kabul, let alone Afghanistan. 7 months to prepare, they did nothing, not even a head count.

My old battalion. We had a lot to live up to and I like to think we didn't fail the ones who came before us. And I know the current ones will not shame us either.

They are starting to circle the wagons with their rhetoric. This may be the most frustrating couple of weeks I have lived through to date.

Probably referring to our night fighting capabilities. Which I will add that our edge in that category has diminished dramatically the last decade or so. Current R&D is looking at the next level of augmented vision to try to regain our edge.

She thinks it's irresponsible for you to point out her irresponsible refusal to admit there are stranded Americans and it's her Administration's fault.

How dare you embarrass me in front of the American people!

We told ya'll if you wanted a ride home, just Uber, ride a bike, or just stroll up the airport, but they decided to stay on their own free will..

If you've never driven an M1151 at 50mph with nothing but PVS-14s weaving in and out of jersey barriers you haven't lived.

I also crashed into a Jersey barrier one time too, so ya win some you lose some.

So if you don't want to risk a bullet in the head trying to get to the airport your preference is to stay in Afghanistan, do I have that right Raggedy?

The standard still appears to wave your passport in front of the taliban, away for the eyes of the American military as the French, Germans, Brits, Hungarians, Danes, pretty much everyone else drives by you to pick up their citizens. They will hammer their answers regardless of the question. Joe led us out, Donald tied his hands, and freedom of movement is unrestricted in Afghanistan.

I'm beginning to think this has never been about withdrawal or evacuating Americans but about implanting taliban fighters into America via the freaking US Military

Not true, although Hollywoodized, the size of the naval and marine contingent is not exaggerated from the historical one.

But true they were on the ships and did not land.

We are going to have fast furious 2.0 on msssive scale aren't we. The admin literally doesn't care about evacuating Americans. Only about giving taliban weapons and unknown afghans flights into America.

Psucky doesn't believe Americans are stranded so drop her sorry ass in Kandahar and tell her to get to the Kabul airport on her own. Four or five days should be enough. Seems to be a favorite time frame of Biden.

If not Taliban proper, certainly another wave of muslims. Which in itself produces a % of terrorists. Which is also why Joe is inviting them to OUR neighborhoods and not his.

The gap has narrowed, but the American fighting machine "owns the night"
No one anywhere can fight as effectively, as efficiently and on as large a scale as the US does as night.

'We Own the Night': The Rise And Fall Of The US Military's Night-Vision Dominance

The terrorists that are flying to Mexico and then trekking across the border must fell pretty stupid. They could have caught a plane courtesy of the Biden administration.

Someone hired paid Twitter bots today to get the hashtag #RespectBiden going.

https://twitter.com/search?q=%23RespectBiden&src=trend_click&vertical=trends

With everything going on there is no way that is an organic trend.

The Russians, Chinese, and Taliban aren't the only ones playing the propaganda game.

Thanks for posting that. Although it would go completely off of the rails for Biden to authorize their use, it would be great if they once again could support Son of Massoud and the Northern Alliance.

But at what cost to Americans and SIVs still stuck everywhere else in Kabul and beyond?

That's the most frustrating thing to me. The Taliban is essentially a horse fly on our military's azz. Can bite and hurt but then be wiped out. But strategically, we can't do that with our civilians and our small force at the airport surrounded. Too many civilians and military there that are hostages.
