That is a good job and hits home the point that O&G is not going away for a long time.

I laugh when people think that electric vehicles mean we will stop using O&G.

What percentage of a vehicle is either created with O&G or used in the process? Has to be 90% as well....

People with electric cars generally have no understanding that the electricity stored in their expensive batteries came mostly from oil and gas power plants

Well, it's hard for them to know how stupid they sound when they're blinded by their own ideology. I've heard that 'ignorance is bliss', and they are the proof.

If only these bozos understood what it takes to extract the rare earth metals.

This is how batteries are made. Then shipped the world over using cargo ships burning bunker fuel.

That was freaking awesome. It's unbelievable that the average person doesn't realize what all comes from oil and gas. These snowflakes wouldn't last a week without oil and gas.

Lol at the corporate dunces that thought they could get away with their disingenuous virtue signal and nobody would notice.

Note to said corporate board - the O&G folks are smarter than you.

Last I checked electric car batteries are made out of O&G products as well.

BTW, the real shell game is that this has nothing to do with O&G, it has to do with the wealth that O&G creates and how it is not all controlled by the government. Let me know when the folks in Norway (which funds their socialism by drilling in the North Sea) decides to stop drilling for O&G.

the real shell game is the "net carbon neutral' so many companies are trying to adapt by 2050 (or some future date).

Companies are converting all heating and cooling to electric only with 'renewable' resources. This is going to drive costs thru the roof.

Hell, the new KC Airport is utilizing ELECTRIC freaking boilers b/c their life cycle cost analysis included $0.00 for the cost of electricity for the heating boilers. Now what happens when that rebate (I think that's what they called it) runs out and they get to actually pay an electric bill.

This drive for 'net carbon neutral" is only going pile more costs on top of the already rising inflation.

I hope you all thinking you're going to retire are doubling the $$ you're going to need to live on 10-years from now.

Let's be honest though, 80-90% of the revenue from oil and gas is from refined transportation fuels. If we get rid of liquid transportation fuels most of the non-super major O&G industry will disappear.

That's still small potatoes compared to the greater goal of trying to destroy private ownership of O&G, the credits are just one small tactic along the way.

I want an electric car. Actually, I want an electric truck.

Mostly because they are simple machines, motors have more torque than combustion engines, and I rarely drive very far in one day.

It has nothing to do with CO2.
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms … disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes… . Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.”

I have no argument with any of that.

I will probably consider an electric truck as well, costs being close to equal, but it has nothing to do with O&G being evil.

My point is that if O&G goes away, so does 50% of the items we use on a daily basis.

I could give a rat's *** about CO2. It is over blown and get back to me once China and India have air that is equal to what Pasadena, Tx has on it's worst day.

There's nothing inherently wrong with electric vehicles .... when we as a society organically accept and use them. On the other hand, governments mandating them and pretending it's some giant boon to society and the environment is sheer lunacy.

Much the same as North Face's stance against oil and gas while all their products rely on them.

I would be interested to see what happens to the charge when pulling a trailer to the lease at the start of the season. Two four wheelers, a benchee, extra wood for blinds, generators, corn, etc.

I know a friend rented an EV to get from Dallas to college station for the spring game. He had to stop in Waco for a recharge, charged again in the Northgate garage during the game, and had to charge twice on the way back.
