"Is this a Minneapolis Police Department-trained neck restraint?" prosecutor Steve Schleicher asks Mercil.

Mercil: "No."

Also Mercil described how such a restraint was made using an arm or leg, by way of inner thigh, not a knee, such as was employed by Chauvin for more than nine minutes.

You quickly posted the defense's cross examination, do you not have link the prosecution? I admittedly can't find it. The blog you posted didn't include the follow up questions either.

Have people died with lower levels of fentanyl in their blood?
If yes, the prosecution argument fails as proof beyond reasonable doubt.
In this case the average level of deaths was lower= reasonable doubt.
We can go back and forth endlessly and not change opinions.
Continuing to use the prosecution's counter argument, other symptoms of a fentanyl overdose were not apparent in the videos. Just sayin.
  • you mean like falling asleep
  • It is the testimony that Floyd fell asleep in the SUV and the passengers could not wake him up before the police arrived.
  • Floyd's blood results show he had taken meth amphetamine, I believe that is speed "balling", which helps prevent people from sleeping. Not a good cocktail to remain alive and breathing.
  • His lungs were full of fluid, I think 3x's their expected normal weight

Core opinions do not change on this site if you haven't noticed. People know approximately where they want to be on any issue regardless of the facts of a matter or the use of well constructed arguments by any particular party.

No really. Fatal levels of fentanyl are just that, FATAL.

Apparently, whether or not the amount in his system was "fatal", is disputed. So, let's do the rational thing, and take neither side as concrete fact, and instead as possibilities.

etxag02 also gave you an expert witness counter point here:
Quote:

Dr. Daniel Isenschmid, a toxicologist at NMS Labs in Pennsylvania, presented data at trial from more than 2,300 blood samples in fentanyl DUI cases from the last year. He showed that while the average fentanyl blood level was close to 9.6 ng/ml, a quarter of people tested had 11 ng/ml or higher. (Important to note: Blood samples were taken from drivers who tested positive for fentanyl and were alive at the time of collection.)

Isenschmid also showed that Floyd's blood ratio of fentanyl to norfentanyl, the molecule fentanyl is broken down to once in the body, was lower than the average ratio both for people who died of overdoses and those arrested for DUI who lived.
I can only assume you picked a side in that debate because of confirmation bias.

You're putting words in that poster's mouth. If you can't be genuine in your retort, then maybe exit the chat.

It's literally called reasonable doubt. It is reasonable to doubt that anyone killed George Floyd other than George Floyd. This case was way too far from air tight to get a conviction.

You could have skipped my post if you weren't going to answer it.

No one knows the answer (not even you) so it's really not worth answering.

Do you not have access to prosecution transcript? I've asked twice and you've ignored both requests.

What is a prosecution transcript? Did you mean to ask if I have posted numerous links to the video of the state's direct and re-direct examinations? Because I have.

All of the testimony can be found by day Here

The idea of: "Well, he ***** up! So he should have died" is just...

That's not even remotely the attitude of the majority of people that think Chauvin was not guilty.

Chauvin was doing what he was trained to do and it worked.
He subdued the unruly suspect and caused no damage to his airway in the process. At most, he is guilty of manslaughter. He should have checked on Floyd at some point.

Drugs killed George Floyd. His own actions in resisting arrest, contributed by adding stress to his already failing systems. The police could have recognized the dilemma and started life saving procedures to prevent his death.

Manslaughter? Maybe so. Murder 2 & 3 convictions just prove this case was not decided on the facts.
This is the dumbest crap I've read on this board all day.

You cannot be serious.

Chauvin will be in jail for a long time because he did not follow proper Police procedure and murdered a citizen of the state.

Yawn. Why do you hate immigrants and women? Not one ounce of concern for the victims in his past crime sprees. Not one. At least when he killed himself..." Death by Stupidity" there will be no future victims to have to live thru trauma caused by GF.

I bet all of the folks here defending GF can't list all of the crimes committed by GF the Patron Saint?

Who gives a chit?

Chauvin is now a convicted murderer because he did not follow police protocol.

I'll give you $1 if you can name a single one that carried the Death Penalty in the state of Minnesota...
