I do expect an uptick in "mass shootings" and things like murder-suicides in the coming years. This pandemic was awful for those already struggling with depression, mental illness, isolation, addiction etc. Fallout might last years as this has sent a ton of people over the edge.

You aren't wrong about that. The Veteran's group I was involved with while still living in Florida, their main focus was bringing down the number of suicides in the Veteran community thru a multitude of events and activities that got Veterans out to meet other Vets and build up a social network to fall back on. When somebody reached out or we knew somebody was in a bad spot we'd reach out to find Veterans in the area to meet up with the individual until they were either committed or were doing better. Those calls for actions used to one or two a week, but up until recently when DeSantis finally opened things back up those calls were happening multiple times a day. Felt bad being here in Missouri unable to help other than to be a voice on the phone.

And apparently they know who did it, but they won't say the name over the radio. They're going to send it to every on duty officer via e-mail instead.

Just said "in Iola".

Again, this is all very fluid and it could easily end up being wrong, or the trooper was only shot at.

But for right now, they're treating it as a officer being shot.

Police trying to get to a school to lock it down. Not sure which one.

Also preparing to deploy spike strips should the suspect vehicle show up.

Sounds like one of the suspected vehicles turned off FM 39 north of Iola. Trooper heading south from North Zulch didn't see the vehicle in question.

One of the vehicles was spotted somewhere on Hwy 21. Not sure if it's the gold Grand Marquis or red Toyota.

We had a ton of State Troopers, Brazos Constables and Sherriff's and other unmarked cars chasing someone down Highway 30 from CS towards Carlos in front of our place at 3:35. We've had at least another 20-30 cops come screaming past since.
