We were told today that we do not have to wear masks around the office anymore unless we were meeting with someone outside the office. Everyone that works here has had the opportunity to get vaccinated. Probably about half of them chose not to. No one in the office wants to continue wearing masks.

I spend a lot of time in rural west Texas. No one in small towns wears masks.

This is false. They don't wear it all the time. I spent 4 years in Japan.

They wear one when they are sick or traveling on their dense populated subways if they have older/ vulnerable people at home.

Otherwise majority will not wear them.

3 weeks ago I drove from Spring to Scottsdale. Fort Stockton is my home so I stopped there and spent some time. Couldn't get into a restaurant without a mask. Along the way stopped at Luling, Sonora and Van Horn. Masks were much more prevalent there than in Houston.

I think after a few more are vaccinated, and numbers keep coming down, more and more will remove mask mandates, and we are already getting back to normal capacity everywhere I've been. So yeah, I think it will be basically 100% normal, outside of you'll still continue to see some wear a mask for a while.

No clue what other countries will require, but a vaccine passport and quarantine requirements almost certainly won't be required in the US.

For some of us, for all intents and purposes, it's over. Meaning we already live our lives. But for society as a whole? It's over when enough people say it's over.

I know some of you are very cynical, and fed up with this stuff. I am too. But I've spoken to a lot of people, distant friends/acquaintances, and family, that definitely took this more seriously than the average person on this board in terms of locking down, taking precautions, etc. The overwhelming majority have the same sentiment. A few weeks after their 2nd dose of vaccinations they are going to be living much closer to normal life again. I'm talking some people who haven't left the house but for a couple times in a year, types. Even they are about done and say no reason not to once vaccines roll out in high numbers.

So when vaccinations go up, numbers go down, which are happening right before your very eyes no matter how skeptical you are, the fear mongering politicians and media won't have the same impact they do now. When more and more of society says it's over, it's over.

Those people were fooled once into submission and will be fooled again when the dreaded variants start taking off.

Everyone who submitted the first time is one "more deadly mutation that the vaccine is ineffective against" from locking right. back. down.

Lock downs, mask mandates, social distancing will never go away. The cause for them will be different but the leftists have found a much easier way to force control of a large % of people who willingly accept it. Could be another pandemic, could be to support climate change, could be to dump the economy to pass massive social programs. There will be many reasons.
