No. Bicarb is given via IV. Cardiac/respiratory arrest can lead to acidosis or vice versa. Bicarb helps neutralize the blood pH

He stated outright that "he's not an expert", his words verbatim. Really clear to me that they've got a lot of training on what to do, not why. And it's really not their job to know why. State called Floyd's GF, Courtney Ross. 45 year old white woman who had dated Floyd of and on since they met at the Salvation Army in August of 2017 shortly after Floyd had moved to Minneapolis. He was a sceurity guard there and her ex was staying at the flop house for the homeless.aggiepanic95 said:

Sometimes they paid people to give them leftover prescribed medications sometimes they bought them on the street. They weren't always using, they tried rehab a couple of times.
In March of 2020, she went to pick Floyd up and drive him to his job but he was in sever pain (stomach) she took him to the hospital instead. He was admitted and stayed in the hospital for five days. Drug overdose. Heroin.
Also in March, Floyd had obtained some pills from Maurice Hall (the guy with him in the car and the store on May 25, 2020) and they took them together. She said the pills appeared different, were larger, etc. She said the effects of those pills were not the usual pain relief she expected, instead she was so hopped up and jittery she couldn't sleep.
She also stated that Floyd occasionally buy drugs from Shawanda Hill who coincidentally was also in the car with Floyd that day. Son he's sitting there with two of his dealers.
About two weeks before he died, Ross said she noted behavioral changes in Floyd indicating he was using again. And again, pills obtained from Maurice Hall were jointly taken. She had the same reaction to those pills as the ones in March. Quite simply they were speedballing. Fentanyl and meth.
So there is straight line between Floyd's OD in March and his OD in May with the same dealers being present.

- George Floyd overdosed on heroin in March, complaining that his stomach hurt before she took him to the hospital.
- Floyd had picked up pills that looked like Percocet from a dealer they both knew (who was in the Cup Foods trying to pass a fake bill, and was in the car when the police arrested him), taking them in March and likely again in May when he relapsed. When he took them he became very high energy
- When the witness took the pills, she felt like she was dying
- Floyd had a second person he bought drugs from, that the witness did not like
It wasn't mentioned, but the two drug dealers referenced were the two people in the car with George Floyd during his arrest.
Good, he's talking about ACLS guidelines. It is very much an "if this, do this" algorithm.
Good line of questioning here by the prosecution from an emergency procedure standpoint. Delay in compressions and resuscitation is tissue lost and increases his risk of death. The longer you wait to compress, the less likely it is for a successful outcome.

Correct answer on the asystole and PEA a question. Both are pulseless arrhythmias that cannot be shocked. Treat with epinephrine and compressions.

Also, he called her "mama" and she was in his cell phone contact list as "mama".
Seems like that would be a big deal because he wasn't being "choked out" as the defense would like you to believe. Wouldn't a normal (non-drug induced) person be revived at that point? Assuming no blockage like in a heart attack.Cactus Jack said:

Witness has arrived at scenes where officers are on top of a suspect. Prosecution objected. Judge overruled.

Trying to put the blame for negligence on the paramedics.
No problem. One other note- during the cross examination, the witness often would respond with "I don't remember", and Nelson would then reference her interview with the FBI or prosecutors where she provided specific details. She was reluctantly forced to do this several times during her testimony.aggiepanic95 said:

When people are revived from a drug overdose can they become violent? Yes. Have you witnessed that? Yes. That's why the police respond as well to ODs? Yes?
