Oh geez! Ben Crump and Al Sharpton are outside the court house holding a press conference.

And so it begins.
More political tampering of a trial.
Among the latter, under pretence of governing they have divided their nations into two classes, wolves and sheep.”

Fire-y press conference right out front. Nice way to start the day in what should be a "neutral" location without intimidation. I'd be freaked out if a juror.

They did the same thing at the Zimmerman/Trayvon Martin trial. Zimmerman had Mark O'Mara as his defense counsel though. Nelson is not bad but is he really up to the task? There are gaping holes and contradictions in the medical testimony to exploit.

The state has already said they do not intend to call Dr. Michael Baden nor Dr. Wilson to testify about their autopsy they performed on the Floyd' family's dime.

A month if not longer. Between the state and the defense the witness list was over 400. It's been pared down some but still a ton of witnesses to get through.
Hawg:
Is there a list of which medical experts each side plans to bring before the jury? Thanks if there is and it's easily accessible. Thanks for all the updates. Thoughts and prayers for any person or place of business in Minneapolis in a month or so, if your timeline is correct.

To set the scene for those who were not following the pre-trial thread on jury selection:

The entire Hennepin County Courthouse has been emptied except for the 18th floor where Cahill courtroom is located. There are barricades all around the courthouse, National Guard is present. Security to even enter the parking garage is very tight. All other tunnels or skyways connected to the courthouse are closed.

In the courtroom proper, Cahill has drastically restricted the number of spectators, particularly the press. Only two pool reporters allowed. The other credentialed members are viewing the trial in the media center that was set up across the street.

Their blm creation has a mind of its own now.

True

But it won't be funded by National Dems or tolerated by local Dems this time

Riots aren't useful when the Dems are in power

Not on the public docket.

Several of the proposed medical experts were discussed in pretrial motions with Cahill allowing some and disallowing others as inadmissible.

Dr. Baker is the name of the Hennepin County ME. And the defense has a Dr. Fowler but I'm not sure of his precise area of expertise.

Crump, Sharpton and crew are kneeling for 8:46 in solidarity with Floyd. I'm sure someone will have to help Sharpton back up.

Under normal circumstances, a not guilty on all counts verdict would probably be a slam dunk given there is plenty of evidence for the defense to use to gain to introduce reasonable doubt. But who knows with this given the volatility.

Cahill just said all 15 jurors showed up. He kicked the last one (good defense juror in my view) out and has a twelve jurors with two alternates.

Going over some pretrial motions right now. Expects jurors should be sworn in at 9:30 and opening arguments will begin.

You're assuming their leadership are the only ones who can/will stoke these. Once unleashed the devil is difficult to put back in the box.

"appeared to" vs "was" in opening statements.

Flash back to "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is."

You have watched too many TV and movie shows.

Opening statements don't usually allow argument anyway. But Cahill is trying to draw too fine of a line considering the video evidence. Recess until 9:20. Then the jury will be sworn in.

This is probably this younger generations OJ trial insofar as there is a block of people that want a certain outcome no matter what the facts are, and that is largely split along racial lines with the rabid left being the outliers, so to speak.

I agree. Only the black people rooting for a killer to be exonerated are now white people who think the knee on Floyd's neck had nothing to do with him going unconcious.

OD is the best defense strategy, stronger than "if the glove dont fit". I hate BLM and accusations race played a role here, but its going to take more than drugs in system to convince these jurors what they see in video is a random coincidence durring a drug OD.

Good thing no blacks were killed in Chicago over the weekend, or they'd have had a tough time deciding where to go concern-mongering and whining about their race card privileges.

Oh wait, 4 killed and 32 wounded? I guess they were all white people? Just really upset assault rifles?

Their lives are over no matter what the verdict is - they will get much hate directed towards them from one side or the other. I would never have let myself be on that jury.

Or the Rodney King trial is also applicable which had massive riots following the verdict.

OJ and Rodney King were basically racial trials as far as many blacks felt, without a major party in the US seeking a specific verdict for political reasons (and much of the rest of America watched, but was not actively/passionate about a guilty verdict being needed).

BLM/Antifa are the military wings of the Dem party now, and that's the one that the CCP is using to sew racial discord/riots. So, this is different/worse.

Is there ANY way they don't fry this guy?

I'm convinced Floyd died of a drug OD...but if they acquit this dude it'll be armageddon in the streets.
They'll sacrifice him to the altar of wokeness. This trial is a formality.
