Saw a young couple skiing in full respirators with the face shields on an uncrowded weekday. By themselves. On a wide open mountain.

Then I run into them later as we're waiting to get on the public shuttle, they lecture me to cover my nose when there's almost nobody around outside...I ask why they are out if they are so scared? The guy responds with "if everyone wore these, we wouldn't have to wear them"

The lift in question was Northwoods Express in Vail, which begins at 9,717ft. It was probably a 20-25mph wind.

So while technically correct, you are still an *******.

Saw several skiing in n95 masks. Oxygen levels at that altitude are already 65-70% of normal - at what point is an n95 mask not safe? Hopefully they didn't challenge their bodies on the mountain or would have passed out from being oxygen deprived.

Hahaha. That is ridiculous. You are naturally social distanced while actively skiing... I was hiking last weekend and 90% werent masked up. But the few that were walked off trail and turned their backs, I was like is this about you being scared I am maskless, or is this a new type of physical shunning/virtue signal...but made me happy to know they had to do that about every 100 meters, makes for a long hike...

This whole mask thing has completely exposed how easy it is to control people through fear.

There is a huge population of people now who have an emotional fear response to people without mask, and to themselves without a mask.

If masks work, why do they fear someone else not wearing one? Theirs should work right?

It shocks me that there is a group out there that still believes masks are protecting them and gets real anxiety and fear when someone doesn't have a mask.

These people are going about probably feeling invincible with their little mask on, and now two masks for some of them.

If masks worked then your mask should work and not require anyone else to wear a mask? If you aren't confident your mask can filter incoming air, get a new one. Get a respirator so you can be safe and stop caring about if everyone else is masked or not. Are you really going to leave a decision that could endanger you to other people? No! Get a respirator for yourself!

Ski resorts are off their rocker with it...

Masks in a lift line at 10,000 feet in a driving 30mph wind.
Lift lines don't exist at 10,000 feet as that's summit level and at 10,000 feet with 30 mph wind only a fool doesn't have a mask on. Did your rocker break and you hit your head? Also, 30 mph winds is right at the edge of lifts being shut down.

Try again.

So much fail in this response. This is just flat-out embarrassing

Mr. Car Wash on Kirby - the one on the north side of SW Freeway.

An older man with an oxygen tank in a soft carry bag, plastic tube providing oxygen under his nostrils, a mask pulled down so you could see his nostrils and the oxygen supply plus a lit cigar hanging out of the side of his mouth pushed around the side of the mask.

Actually - it was kind of awesome.

(Never underestimate the dangers of wandering into a grain elevator, perhaps at the base of Sierra Blanca, NM (base 9600'). The gondola gazebo is 11,500' ...has the whole world gone crazy?)

Traveled in a group bubble to an undisclosed country late last year and was near a guy wearing a full on double filter gas mask, sealed around the face at IAH. Found out over the week that he did have multiple co-morbidities, quite a sight (soiled backpacker in late-stages of middle age).

American Airlines would not let him wear his rig on the plane and gave him a paper mask. The undisclosed country allowed him to wear the contraption on their domestic flights, but once we checked in for American flight home: Paper mask! Genius.

I'd really like to talk to people like this to see what their understanding is, but it'd probably hurt my head.
This happened to us in Vail last summer. Had one person almost fall down a damn hillside and possibly kill themselves doing everything they could to avoid us because we weren't wearing masks. Person risked immediate injury and death right then because of this. Crazy.

I saw a man driving his covetable Mercedes with the top down wearing rubber gloves and of course and of course a M95 mask.
Went to McDonalds here in Minneapolis. Drive thru guy takes my card with a hand with TWO gloves on, puts the card in the machine, runs it with his ungloved hand, pulls it out WITH HIS UNGLOVED HAND puts it back into his gloved hand to hand it to me.

The sheer dumb****ery on display because of a weak respiratory virus is proof that our educational system is a LOLfail.

How about all the fast food companies taking your food and putting it in a paper bag and then taking that paper bag again in their hands and placing it in a white square open box to hand it to you.

They've touched the food, the individual food wrappings and the bag multiple times but hand you a box with a stapled bag in it that you must grab yourself so you won't get the VID.

It's a game.

That might actually filter virus sized molecules, but I can't imagine being such a scaredy cat as to wear one.

Parent who complained that I wasn't wearing a mask while teaching. Virtually. From my empty classroom.

That and a second incident and I raised hell. It is now an unofficial rule we don't have to wear masks while teaching because a) it hinders our ability to our job and b) we're usually more than 6' from the nearest kid anyway. Thankfully my immediate superiors aren't complete morons and we basically just have to Appear To Be Doing Something.

I have students who I still don't recognize because of masks. I only know who it is because of where they sit in my classroom/lab.

Spotted the magical double mask plus face shield at the airport. If you spot one in the wild, be sure not to make any sudden movements, they spook easily.

If these people are so scared, why are they going out in public for non essential tasks???

My old lady from back in the day, still frequents campus. He was telling me that last semester the FTAB had to practice with their masks on... All of them.

Anyone who played a wind instrument had to cut a hole in their mask to meet the requirement and still be able to play.

The sheep are terrified because Democrats have spent the last year inflating cases and death counts and telling them this virus is airborne Ebola super aids

...but can be magically stopped by a paper thin bandana

All while carefully ignoring that the places with draconian mask and lockdown orders are doing pretty much the same as places without any

In fact they waited till it served its purpose and got Joe elected to be honest and admit the truth:

There is nothing we can do to stop this thing until the vulnerable populations are vaccinated and masks and shutdowns were never a solution, just a means to a political end

You know I don't have an issue with people doing a double mask. If they feel their safety is at risk then by all means. I do think it's completely idiotic to force people in open air, non crowded spaces to wear them (beaches, parks etc). Assume your own risk. If you think being in a park or beach with people who don't have masks on then double bag it or stay away from that area. We need to get back to personal assumption of risk instead of our government overlords mandates. What is going on in that picture is comical though. It's a respiratory disease.

I was not wearing my mask in a store last week and a child (8-9 years old) yelled "put your mask on dude."

Of course the kid was in school at 11am. Of course he was morbidly obese. Of course his mother didn't even notice her fat kid is yelling at random dudes in the store.

It should be acceptable and legal to smack that brat into next month.

I just stopped for an iced tea on my Sunday morning walk...every pedestrian beside me on my outdoor walking path are wearing masks. One guy walking in my direction left the sidewalk and strolled up a short incline and put his face into an ivy plant growing on a wall until I passed.

Last weekend I unintentionally pinned a frightened covidian against a wall in a parking lot...poor guy walked backwards to get away from me. Almost fell over

Both of these incidents happened in California where Sacramento has every dim witted citizen fearing for their lives
