Good. Not necessary at sporting events and just causes pointless debate. Hope this follows at all sporting events minus the olympics.

No one is stopping anyone from standing and singing the National Anthem at the games on their own.

As a military brat growing up the National Anthem was played before movies at base theaters. At 5pm all traffic stopped on base, everyone got out of their cars, everyone faced in the direction of the flag, covered their heart or saluted, as either retreat or the National Anthem was played. And every damn time it was inspiring and emotional.RAB91 said:
Cuban's not the only NBA person to support this. Van Gundy gives Two Teas a run for his money in seeing how left he can go.
What if a military base camp and a public entertainment venue ARENT the same? Wild thought i just hadrichardag said:As a military brat growing up the National Anthem was played before movies at base theaters. What the **** is wrong with people pissing and moaning about the National Anthem before games. Hell in the sixties in civilian theaters in England they played their National Anthem, God Save the Queen, before movies would start.
I think sports is something that brings everyone together. Your background, interests, politics, etc., don't matter. Love of country is the same way. Singing a unifying song at a unifying event has always made sense to me. The point is national unity.blacksox said:

Plus, 1/3 of the Mavericks roster is foreign born. How does an American "song" make them feel united?

I always thought the same to. However, Cuban isn't ending it because he think it's some silly tradition. He's ending it because all of a sudden the national anthem has become offensive.blacksox said:
