grabs gun
points at foot
shouts, "ORANGE MAN BAD!"
pulls trigger

Now wonders why unemployment ticks up, taxes go up, energy costs go up, middle class shrinks, and poor get poorer.

Govt will have the krap sued out of them. No due process or legal reason to cancel the permit. Very 3rd world look
The phrase "arbitrary and capricious decision with no basis in the administrative record" comes to mind from Dr. Kaiser's environmental law class...

Not that I disagree with the general sentiment expressed, but cancelling Keystone XL has no impact on our independence. Not bringing in Canadian oil has no effect, and the Dakota oil will keep being transported by rail car.

Rail car is expensive and is less safe than a pipeline.

I totally agree. But the oil will still get refined in the US. Stopping the pipeline just changes how it gets there. I am only taking exception to the tweet I was replying to claiming that killing the pipeline ended US oil independence. It is still a terrible move by Biden that I think will get overturned in court, but that doesn't mean we should lie about the true impact.

Operators will not drill in the Bakken when it's not economical to do so. Transportation is a huge hindrance that makes Bakken drilling far more expensive than say Permian drilling. So when oil price is low, drill rigs might still be up and running in the Permian and other plays that have have the infrastructure, climate and geography to make it cheaper to drill, but they'll be stacked or moving out of the Bakken. That alone costs a lot of jobs, not just in E&P, but also the services that support it and in all industries in the communities built around oil in ND. Further, if we can't produce enough in TX, NM, OK and we're not drilling to produce more in ND, we need to import crude from offshore and around the globe, thus losing energy independence.

Part of the dem strategy to make carbon fuels expensive so more and more people adopt electric.

i hope they do not do that b/c electric cars use electicity from gas and coal...not wind and solar.

I wonder how happy the Appalachian Trail Conservatory would be if they installed a few thousand windmills and a few hundred acres of solar panels on their trail.

Keystone Pipeline cancelled bc of "Greta's feelz" and men in womens' locker rooms and showers...just getting started. Hell of an agenda! Way to pave the way for the rest of the world. No way our powerful adversaries aren't choking from laughter.

Way to go libs...you're hurting American but that doesn't matter...what matters is that you're spiting your political opponents. Feel good?

Agree. None of what they are doing "for the climate" makes any logical sense. But it makes them feel good to do it. And we all know feelings are far more important than logic. Logic is mostly just mansplaining isnt it?

Not really. Trudeau doesn't like Alberta all that much...Kind of like Biden and Texas. It was a kick to the nuts of Canada for sure, but Trudeau would probably shut down the Alberta oil sands operations if he thought he could do it and not get thrown out of office.

Back to $4 dollar gas and losing our energy independence
Four dollar gas will be an impossible dream for middle class Californians who have to drive 50 miles to and from work everyday.

But the democrats are the party who care more about the middle class
Well, of COURSE the Dems want to be sure people move into the larger metropolitan cities, or at least not move out so that they will be forced to play "Satan Says".

Keystone serves no purpose - you guys are arguing over a project w little to no demand.

Dakota Access is the key. Keystone wasn't good for America. It was a legacy project that became a political football. It was more a rallying cry than functional demand mitigation.

DAPL is the key pipeline at the moment

"Show my your opinion of Keystone and I'll show you your politics!"

This has never been about the merits, and only ever about political funding. Folks try to spin it, but there's no reason for 99% of us to care about a routine privately funded subterranean infrastructure project in flyover country.

It's like arguing ND vs A&M for the playoffs when we SHOULD be arguing both against OSU. It's a distraction.

In reality; Team Blue told you to be against Keystone and you therefore look to rationalize that position.
