When I first heard about what happened to Parler my first thought was that there's no way lawsuits aren't brought forth. At worst, it sounds like collusion and anti-competition.

I'm not saying they will win. Events this fall have shown us that judges will gladly look the other way when it comes to the law going against their preferred political ideology

People were able to scrape basically all user data and content from Parler before it went dark. Parler also requires personal information to make an account, so posts can be linked to individuals. Includes deleted and private content.
So they got people to give them their personal info, post a bunch of stuff like idk, storming the Capitol, then lost all that information because of poor security. Good job everyone.

It was and the fact the that the reporting of that led it to be a trending headline/topic on Twitter is far from Twitter supporting the terrorist who were saying that. This lawsuit will most likely be laughed out of court sooner than later.
So the interesting thing is it appears AWS is saying Parler has been suspended, not terminated. Essentially, they don't delete anything, but disable all your services so you can "correct" whatever the issue is.

Parler does not require personal information to create an account. There is a process by which you can prove your identity and get a badge saying so, it makes it easier to spot bots, but this is not required and you can use the site just finePJYoung said:

They use the term "suspension", but are effectively terminating the Agreement.

They are likely alleging the Sherman Act anti-trust provisions to get around the binding arbitration provisions of the contract.
Remember when AWS lost that bid for the $10 billion JEDI contract for the DOD under suspicious circumstances? The inference was that Trump interceded because of his dislike of Bezos.

So the contract specifies a notice of thirty days before terminating. I wonder if the contract specifies what penalty and damages will be paid if the thirty days is not provided. It would seem likely that Amazon decided that the penalty and damages were worth it.Rick Burns said:

If you read the letter sent to Parler and the TOS, Amazon actually suspended them. They have not terminated their contract.
They can suspend at a moments notice without prior notification. My guess is, that's what they will stand on.

While they call it a "suspension", it is a de facto "temination".
Bringing up the "Hang Mike Pence" hashtag is a losing strategy seeing as Twitter put a stop to it. I imagine it would be more effective to pull up the Tweets and hashtags that didn't get taken down.

And they will win too, because what Parler was suspended/shut down for is covered in the terms of service. This is another ex-parrot lawsuit.
Can someone tell me how Amazon can suspend this service for Parler? Does the contract really have stipulations around moderation? I would doubt that.

It doesn't look good that Amazon, Google and Apple all moved against Parler simultaneously.
At some point, one of these lawsuits about unequal treatment between by these companies about conservative messages and progressive messages is going to find itself in front of the wrong judge / jury / ALJ, and a precedent will be set that these companies will not want to have to deal with.
Not sure if Parler is that case, but I do think we will see it eventually.
