5 people died the other day under his leadership at his house. Sometime a man has to grow up and recognize this fact.
Only in the most general sense, but will grant that he is a potentially credible source. But without names, we don't know that the people who talked to him are credible.John Maplethorpe said:
Trump was back at the White House during the breach, the video from the tent is irrelevant to Sasse's statement.
I get the desire to disbelieve Sasse but he's not a known liar. This is hearsay but we're not in a courtroom and it's a credible source.

Now do all of the people and police killed by BLM/Antifa lovers this past summer and all BACKED BY DEMOCRATS.
Oh, that's right. You don't have the ability to be honest. Nevermind. Just go back to sleep then.

Wasn't addressing that scum. Honest enough for you?

Ben Sasse is a Republican Senator from Nebraska. About 10 times more conservative than Trump.
He's not a "liberal" and he's not "the media". HTH

JM,
Your approach is pretty abrasive. Perhaps if you would consider posting controversial subjects in more of cautionary way like "hey, Ben Sasse says X what does everyone think of that" vs "See Ben Sasse says Trump was delighted about the riots and now I'm right about Trump being a jerk".
See the difference?

Quote:
Sen. Ben Sasse (R-Neb.) said Friday that he heard from senior White House officials that President Trump was "delighted" to hear that his supporters were breaking into the Capitol building in a riot Wednesday

I think the whole premise is wrong.
Sasse may be right that Trump was pleased to see the Rally moved to the Capitol. But, what if that was all. What if Trump was NOT happy that they stormed the Capitol, destroyed property, and people died? Is it possible that he was delighted they showed up to let Congress know they don't like election fraud?
I think the whole problem with the Sasse story is it lacks enough context and sources to mean anything. It leaves a story to be used by both sides to mean different things.
BUT - I will say this and most everyone on here will agree - Trump can be a massive jerk. But guess what, that's a lot of why the Right liked him. He didn't roll over to the bullying of the left-wing media, big tech, Democratic and RINO machine that have been leeches on this country for far too long. He FIGHTS. He fights dirty at times and even I cringed a lot of times when I would see some of his tweets and hear some of the verbal sparring he would get into.
That does NOT justify stripping way first amendment rights of people you politically disagree with, that does not justify election fraud on this grand scale, that did not justify spying on him and his team, that did not justify the lie of Russia collusion, that did not justify the phony Ukraine impeachment nonsense, that did not justify the Charlotte lie, that does not justify these past few days actions, none of it.
It is still amazing to me that the Left doesn't get it. Trump is not our hero, Trump is not a cult leader, Trump is simply a representation of all of the people who are SICK OF THE LEFT. The Left has tried to make America look like a bunch of racist, sexist haters for the last 20 years. Now why do you think people were drawn to someone who PUSHED BACK on all of that phony garbage.

There are a lot of other conservatives that "push back" that actually represent conservative policies, are well spoken and are good men. And they aren't named Donald Trump.
Don't know why everyone treats it like Trump is the last non leftist on earth. Just throw their hands in the sky and say "it is either Trump or bust. There are literally no other conservatives. Only Donald."

Trump was the won that won. You back him once that happens because the last two paragraphs or Red Red Wine's post were spot on. Trump was a representation of all those sick of the Left, Ted Cruz was also. If he had won he would have gotten the same very unflinching support.
Who else is the "lot of others" you are talking about that could win and effect some counter-push? Certainly not Jeb.
If he has really become adrift in the very last months, that doesn't undo the motives of the choice. And yes, a successor in DeSantis is already visible. He handles the press as they should be.
