Jorts did not get put in the pokey for taking money from people. He was put in for other bad choices.

He is currently out of jail and has been for a while.

At one time, jorts was a straight laced guy, but he made some poor choices, and then compounded those choices. There will be consequences worse than jail that he may being paying for the rest of his life.
