There are a significant number of other viral infections that cause sickness other than covid or influenza.

Also I have been telling people since March that the timeline just didn't line up and that it was in the US before the beginning of the year.
In fact I told most people that the first wave back in March was probably the second wave.
Stupid that we shut things down in the summer when the warm weather would have helped people fight this off.
