And IIRC, Republicans control the legislatures in Wisconsin and Michigan as well. I think Pennsylvania is split.

I think that was a dig at my intelligence.

Simply, mail in voting has the greatest chance of inviting fraud in the worst case and extreme incompetence in the best.

Namely, there is no real accountability as to who the voter is even if there is accountability to who owns the ballot. A signature is hardly a fool proof way of verification.

The layers of potential fraud or mismanagement is deep. I dont think i could list them all.

Every step from state polcies such as motor/voter laws, sending ballots to every registered voter without request, voter roll purging issues, chain of custody, ballot harvesting, print errors, postmark dates, counting dates, counting shinanigans, postal service issues, lost ballots, flooded storage rooms, ballots sent to former residences, ballots sent to dead people and so on offer a difficult tracking system and one that is ripe for being taken advantage of. You're being very naive to think people, on both sides, dont try and take advantage of the weaknesses of miv.

On the non govt side of it, miv is too weak in accountability to the voter. There is no real way of verifying that the person filling the ballot is who they say they are or whether they are being influenced by undue means. Vote by mail depends on the honesty of the average voter. I do believe the vast majority of people are honest but it doesn't take but a relative few to turn an election


Further, it's damn near impossible to prove fraud when it occurs via mail (unless they are real sloppy). Because the system has so many holes.

The most secure and fair way of voting is to show up in person with a valid id and cast one's vote. This removes all the potential errors or ill temptations associated with the weaknesses of mail in voting.

I want open and fair elections. I lean conservative and think it's the right course for political action. However, im not stubborn enough to not acknowledge half the country disagrees and thinks another way is best. Their voices should be heard too.

I just want it in the open and fair. Mail in voting does not satisfy that goal.


And, to add, the losing half of the electorate needs to know and understand that fraud or silly games were absent to really feel comfortable with or accept a loss.

Instead, we get magical drops of new ballots that trend one direction or only one sides ballots magically go missing and so on. All that goes away with ipv.
