Libertarian here. I'm happy with my vote. If forced to pick between the two it probably would have been Biden. Republicans stopped caring about conservative fiscal policy a long time ago.

However, I am happy that if Biden wins it looks like a R controlled senate and Supreme Court. Maybe they'll have to work together on some things.

You mean the court they're about to pack?

The can't pack the court without the Senate.

You may not like Obama's policies and agenda - I sure didn't - but once the Rs took the senate there was no more stuff like the ACA.

Pres Biden/Harris will sign anti-business EOs and that's no bueno, but we can handle it. On the other hand, crap like a $5T Green New Deal would be harmful on an entirely different level.

Are we gong to keep the Senate? I just went to RCP and clicked on Senate w/ no tossups and it showed 50/50 which means we are screwed w/ Harris being a swing vote.

Not sure how they get that.

I think they are giving the Ds Maine which Collins leads comfortably?
And both GA seats when Rs lead in one and will probably win the runoff in the other too.

This one at NYT shows 47 for Rep and they lead in
AK
NC
ME
GA
and likely win the other GA seat too in runoff
and might still win MI

That's between 51 and 53 depending.

Get ready for "the great reset".
The global elites are about to tell us what is moral and immoral. It's the complete opposite of Libertarianism.

conservatives stopped caring about fiscal responsibility so your vote would have gone to the even less fiscal responsible and even more overreaching big government candidate?

Yea, this is what I want to know. The country will be fine if the Rs keep the Senate. If they don't, President Harris is going to push through some harmful, expensive policies.

I thought the same thing when Obama won and that worked out so well.

Rs did not control the Senate in 2008. they only regained it in 2014.

Hate to break it to you but you're not a libertarian.

Republicans are not as fiscally conservative as I would like. They do plenty of things that advances a big government agenda. And as a libertarian, I'm definitively opposed to that.

In contrast, the democrats are not for big government, they're for massive government. They want to tell you how to live every aspect of your life except whether or not you can get married to someone of your sex, which republicans aren't really fighting anymore anyway, and abortion, which lacks a realistic avenue to be challenged.

I would be curious to see which "libertarian" positions you think Biden aligns to that are actually contested in today's world.

He can win either by flipping Nevada back, keeping Michigan or going to Supreme Court against mail-in. Is that right?

They may not be as fiscally conservative as you want, so you would vote for a party pushing "social justice" and Medicare for all?

Smart.

I don't think you know what you are. If you are fiscally conservative. Then you should ONLY be in favor of social issues that cost zero money from the federal government. That isn't the platform you "would have" voted for.

I'd argue that the Republicans opened the door to socialism if we're going to start assigning blame.
