My city has just gone full stupid on the masks. The hired an outside firm to issue fines for not wearing a mask in certain areas. Obviously it's in California and the stupid is strong here.

Yukon, you just gave me the courage to do this. I have been back and forth in my head if I should go for it since I value voting more than just about anything. I am going to early vote, stand in that line confidently without the fear mask, and go in to vote. I am going to issue the line, "I have a medical condition" first and if that does not work, I am going to use, "This is voter suppression". If that does not work, I will leave and come back another day to vote, but will not be wearing the fear mask.

I wear a mask simply to keep idiots from trying to approach me. I have zero time to interact with Karens. That is 100% why I wear. In that light, it is worth it to me.

I also am college age person living in BCS so there are PLENTY of dumb kids with enough fire and conviction in their bellies to make scenes about it. Which is pretty much the last thing I want to deal with.

I am willing to give up a lot in order not to have to deal with society. I truly want to be left alone and at this moment in time, wearing a mask is the best way to do that.

Go to the store. Keep your mask in your pocket. No one cares.

For the first time in 2 months I was told to put one on the other day by a small business. I didn't have one at all, but was glad one of the guys in the store had one to spare for me. I now keep one in the truck for both the wife and I just in case.

If I need something I need something. I am willing yo mask up if the proprietor asks me personally.

Walmart or big box employee? Lol, I don't even recognize their existence, much less their demands when they want to check my receipt on the way out. You don't even have to stop for loss prevention.

I'm not afraid of catching COVID. At all. I wear a mask for one reason and one reason alone. If I do have the virus and I'm not showing symptoms, I don't want to spread it to anyone else. I'd never forgive myself if I was lazy or protesting something so simple and indirectly landed someone (especially someone older) in the hospital.

It is annoying but at the end of the day, the mask is off my face after 5 min in the store.

Hey sucks but it is what it is. The virus seems to be sticking around through this year. Just like getting my kids vaccinated I'll do my part for others. Don't really care that much.

The "I don't wear a mask because I'm a badass" is a weird and childish mindset. Like you are some 20 year old frat bro.

Your incremental thinking is a sign of an inability to properly think a problem through. Oh well in 2 weeks i will reevaluate. This is the same type of thinking that leads to almost all addictions. Well getting drunk again won't hurt. Gambling another 1,000 won't be bad, ill win this time. It is the defining line between people who can responsibly enjoy things in moderation and those whose lives get ruined.

It's not that I don't wear a mask because I think I'm a badass. I don't wear a mask because I don't want to and I think I should be allowed to make my own decisions.

I'd rather not have fines or national mask mandates put in place. As long as epidemiologists nationwide say they slow the spread, and the cases continue to rise with people ignoring them, we are going to end up with a national mask mandate. Would rather that not be the case. But you can pat yourself on the back then.

And I do donate time and money to others. Weekly. Wearing a mask is like the easiest thing to do.

Well I hope you're able to forgive yourself in 2025 when you pass CV on to someone's grandma and they wind up in the hospital. How selfish of you, it's such a minuscule small itsy bitsy thing you can do. Instead you bring logic and facts into it to decide it's safe for you to take off the mask even though you might be a danger to others.

When the experts talked about masks they said they work because the stop bacteria. Viruses are 100s to 1000s times smaller than bacteria. The cotton shirts, bandanas, and those cheap fabric masks made in China aren't stopping the virus. Even the CDC footnoted there is zero evidence a mask works.

Initially why did the CDC and WHO and everyone say masks don't work? Because they know how small the virus particles are.

So why the switch? Because it became a litmus test to how far they can control people.

You're on the left which loves to tout how scientific you all are but you don't even know the basic physical properties of a virus.
