I've been working on the Artemis program as a sub to Boeing the last 18 months. I've had a bad feeling this thing wasn't going to be successful based on all the schedule delays and cost growth we've been seeing. My personal opinion is that is a major waste of money, but was a cool mission none the less. Have had my eyes on the job boards for 6 months or so, ha!

Just saw it earlier today, can't believe you can drive and then park right up to the edge of the road .. lots of people out there today, oxygen trucks were unloading into the big horizontal tanks. Very cool, coming back next launch to watch, didn't want to hang out till Tuesday

Lucky. I'm thinking about trying to get down there for a launch this coming summer with my youngest. Whenever the Mars stuff launches in 26 we will definitely go down for one of those. Lucky to have this in Texas.

It's probably more secure than we realize. The nuclear missle silo on our old family ranch is unmanned. But anyone unknown entering the county is kind of kept an eye on. On the silo itself, there are lots of motion sensors and cameras. If something were to set off the sensors, you have about 10-15 minutes before a couple fighters will fly over from Warren followed by soldiers in trucks about an hour later. Not enough time to do anything really dangerous. I'm sure SpaceX is somewhat similar in that there are more eyes than you think.
