The US govt is the enemy of US citizens. Doesn't matter who is in office

Much of this is just an impeachment trap for Trump, imho.

I'd bet my life on there being FISA/NSD surveillance of Elon's communications. A secondary goal/benefit will be to release embarrassing private messages to justify Elon's removal as an executive of the related companies.

It's really interesting how this will be interpreted by different individuals.

Some people will see this as a sign Musk and/or his companies are operating unethically and violating regulations. Bad Musk.

Others will see this is ridiculous government regulatory environment and political. Bad Government.

People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because hard men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

There's a 3rd category that will just see this as those agencies doing their job and a business doing what they must to comply. Honestly the chart shouldn't be too shocking to anyone, especially given the industry
SpaceX operates in.

I interpret it as John Galt being pushed by the Looters.

Yeah, I like Musk, but some of the Tesla investigations are real and not surprising. They way oversold FSD and its capabilities and did some sketchy stuff with its advertising, and it's led to some deaths. They've also had a lot of QC issues that realistically should have resulted in recalls. Those investigations also predate Musk buying Twitter or making any kind of political statements

They better not push too hard. Musk probably knows where a ton of skeletons are buried, or how to find out where they are. Musk seems to be a guy who can give as good or better than he gets and he's a lot smarter than they are.

Good. Not good obviously.. but good I'm the sense that I think we can rule out international foul play.

In geostationary orbit it would be kind of hard to do anything nefarious. Thats 22000 miles up.

My understanding is that they weren't taking them out. They were trying to say Starlink was interfering with their satellites even when some of the Starlink satellites were basically turned off.

It was Intelsat 33e, a communications satellite. It had propulsion problems in 2016 just after launch.

Intelsat 29e experienced a catastrophic failure in 2019, likely related to the propulsion system. Quite possibly a design flaw.

This company is the largest provider of satellite capacity to the United States government. This satellite does not appear to be military but you never know.

Geostationary orbit is way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way way more far out then the Starlink cluster or anything else near low earth orbit.

Just to clarify y'all know I was kidding when I said they blew up their own satellite to take out some Starlink satellites…. Right?

But I do find it humorous that it's the propulsion system that failed.

Possible static fire this am. This makes me think they might get this next one off before Turkey-day.

Neutron updates; again looking for mid-2025 launch, but sounds like it's a tough target to hit.

The "why don't they just do it" is funny to me because earlier this year I finished a book series by Peter Hamilton in which NASA finally sends men to Mars, and when they get there and are about to step off the lander a portal/wormhole opens and a college aged kid in a "homemade" space suit steps out (think Musk in grad school with a bunch of fellow brainiacs) - and beats them technically to be the first humans on Mars.

But the point being NASA flew to Mars, spent billions, and took over a year to get there or something like that and these guys built this thing in their warehouse and walked through.

Pandora's Star (Commonwealth series). Ozzie is a fun character.

I flew through most of Hamilton's writings last year and early this year that were all in that universe.

I will be sorely disappointed if it's not flying before late November.

My guess is November 18th.

I get 10 cents off with Walmart plus and 6% back from Amex and Murphy is usually the cheapest around. I'll look in to the prime discount though, could help when a Murphy isn't around.

I believe these are the same controls they're going to use to land New Glenn's booster soon so it's encouraging to see so many successful landings.

That's New Shepherd. They've been landing that one for a long time. It's the system they send tourists up in. The tourist capsule separates and lands with parachutes. The booster comes back for a controlled landing.
