That's what I'm thinking, they're about to hut the ID and noise question full in the face.

I would love to get it but my PC is nowhere near strong enough to run it.

I played KSP1 relentlessly, but I'm thinking my KSP2 experience is just going to be watching Scott Manley videos.

Maybe, but not for a long long time

I live in the southernmost unit of Sapphire. My kitchen, LR, and both patios face SpaceX with literally nothing between.

Launches are so freaking awesome that it's gonna be a long time before they become problematic.

You will be able to book launchpad facing rooms at the remodeled Margaritaville starting in May.

Do it.

So you're hosting the launch party?

Unless someone else has already signed up for it, I'll bring the hookers and blow.

I really liked hearing all of the crew talk and give their thoughts in their native languages.

This discussion was had something like 6 yrs ago, Brandon and I even had a civil conversation about it.

It IS very much politics related, you can't fart in space without geopolitical implications. NASA itself has anywhere from a .4 to a 1% share of govt spending, which for a single item is not insignificant.

We also have behaved, this topic( and the few that proceeded it) has probably been in the top 5 bi-partisan discussions here. Add to that when we have tried to do it on the nerdery and it's failed miserably... it works here.

One big thread that rarely needs moderation, more on topic than a lot of the discussions here, that more than one actual rocket scientist contributes to.. I don't see the issue.

This thread is 2.5 years oldand 225 pages and counting. It has long since earned its place on F16.

But since you asked, it's politics related b/c the space game is dominated by tax collecting customers across the globe buying services from companies subsidized with even more tax dollars.

Read page 1. Ag of 08 and, yes I give our opinions on it there. But you are free to flag/ignore if this is disturbing your f16 reading enjoyment.

Pretty funny thing to gripe about, frankly.

Something I found interesting. At the Houston Rodeo, T the end of the night, they would do the "High Flying" award presented by United Airlines to whoever got bucked the highest or worst. Now it is presented by Axiom and called "Defying Gravity"

ESA update (Arianespace): They are just as big a train wreck today, from a commercially-competitive launch platform perspective, as 10 years ago. For what they spend on ESA, that's impressive.

Arianspace was once damn near the exclusive launch provider for commercial satellites in the west. If you didn't trust Russia or China, your only viable alternative before 2010 was Arianspace. That all came crashing down in a hurry.

True.

Fun rumor that seems well-sourced; ULA sale is pending. Blue Origin is a good guess, but who knows?

The shake out in formerly dominant launch providers toward a future state of orbital launch providers reflecting spaceX' cost and scheduling baseline/reality, is going to be interesting over the near and long term.

I don't see ULA as particularly valuable, post-SLS gravy train, outside of their captive DoD/NSA contracts/relationship, yet that seems to be a…decreasing rate of return.
