What happens to the rocket debris? Is it recycled? Scrapped?

What I really want to know is could I get a nose cone or one of those wings to give my kids something to play with and myself something to look at when drinking beer in the backyard?

They've scrapped them previously. A guy I know on instagram had a handful of the scrap the day after the asplosion but I'm sure he gave it all to SpaceX.

Those belong in a museum!

Or uh, melted down and made into more Starships.

They are just scrapping the ones that crash. I am not sure if it is melted down or not but I doubt it as it is a pain to get the metallurgy just right to make new pieces since it's mingled with other components.

They might launch the next one next week, going to the pad today.

NASASpaceflight.com reports that SpaceX already scheduled to transport a new Starship to the launch pad on Monday, March 8th wants that prototype ready to launch as early as next week.

According to the same report, SpaceX having already installed three Raptor engines on Starship serial number 11 (SN11) aims to more or less wrap up all qualification testing by the end of the week. No different than the test campaigns that all other flightworthy Starships had to pass before being cleared for launch, that process includes at minimum a good cryogenic proof test and a combined wet dress rehearsal (WDR) and static fire.
...
Still, it's not entirely impossible. If SpaceX can borrow from the most efficient Starship launches and test campaigns its completed and combine them all with a few new, unspecified efficiencies, it's reasonable to conclude that Starship SN11 could be ready to fly near the end of next week (around March 19th). More specifically, SpaceX would have to complete a successful static fire on the first try within a week of SN11's scheduled March 8th rollout, followed by a brisk two or three-day turnaround for a launch attempt.

While not impossible, it's safe to say that that scenario is unlikely. Nevertheless, assuming SpaceX continues to find ways to expedite preflight processing like it has with SN8, SN9, and SN10, it's reasonable to assume that Starship SN11 could be ready for an inaugural launch attempt as early as the last week of March.

So, in other words, probably not next week. I dunno.

SN15 Onwards and BN1 Super Heavy:
Starship SN15 is currently in the Mid Bay, waiting for SN11 to depart. Once SN11 is at the pad, SN15 will be moved to the High Bay and receive its nosecone.
SN15 will include a new design for the Thrust Puck and host a greater amount of TPS (Thermal Protection System) tiles.
With the impressive production cadence in mind, SN16 and SN17 will become future stablemates inside the Mid Bay. However, parts up to SN20 including its Leg Skirt have already been spotted by Mary (@bocachicagal).
To aid the test flight schedule, Mary's cameras have observed an increasing amount of Raptor deliveries.

That view from Austin's tweet, reminds me to this clip from Austin Powers:

I don't know if anybody else has watched this but I thought it was really well done.

It's a broad overview of Elon Musk's SpaceX history.

After SN11, we're moving to SN15 right?

What's the build status of SN15?

Yep, moving to SN15. It was just moved into the high bay yesterday for nose cone attaching.

They're getting there, but are a bit cagey about the changes.

15 and 16 are basically ready, but it seems like they are doing something to change the nose cone sections as well as the landing leg systems...which is a bit of a mystery. I think 15+ will also all be 3mm thick.

I remember before SpaceX was much more than a new idea and they released their futuristic cockpit and suits. Everything about it made my inner child come out as I was seeing what I had always hoped. Our ships would look as cool as they do in the movies. Figured that they'd never hold true to their design.

Boy was I wrong.

Not really but thoughts are it could fly as early as next week.

Keep in mind of the rockets to flip and try to land the fastest to fly was SN10 and that was 27 days after getting to the launch pad. This one has a head start in that it's 3 raptors were attached to the rocket before it rolled to the launch pad.

Thought it was pretty cool Cape Canaveral is a Space Force site now. I did always mix up the nasa and military launch facilities though since they're all within a few miles of each other.

Looks like static fire test could happen as early as tomorrow, maybe Saturday. Looking at possible launch as early as Tuesday/Wednesday? If tests go well?

Very cool to see this on the stand so quickly with all engines attached and already doing testing such a short time after SN10.

They have an agreement with the city not to do static fires/launches @ BC on the weekend. Hopefully a test fire today.

LabPadre is saying that an announcement was made to have the pad clear by 8 am (central), with a road closure in effect starting at 7 am, so it sounds like they're at least going to try to static fire.

I'm guessing the test plan for BN1 is to launch and land without Starship?
