Yes, from a private group on FB

"Clamp mechanicals and modeling has proven that using a standard 6' ring spacing is inadequate to mitigate blast issues on the protective dome. Ring will get taller for testing and SQD reworked."

Word at the base is they would have launched regardless of this which would have been more entertaining at stage separation.

Does that delay the launch considerably?

My guess... They're moving forward with an upgrade while waiting on regulatory approval.

Elon really could be a super villain. Controls his own world wide space based communications/internet network. Has a space fleet to launch weapons. Fleets of self driving vehicles. Autonomous robots. Owns the largest online communication platform to study human communication and further develop his AI. Brain implants to control people. And a tunneling operation to build an underground lair. If he has a cat that likes to sit in his lap, we might be in trouble.

On mars.

In all seriousness, they want to use automation/AI a lot on their big dreams about Mars. 50 starships every three days for a few months to build something approaching a 'sustainable' colony, though admittedly his numbers have been all over the place.

So if the government shuts down, who's going to stop Starship from launching?

1) I was waiting for the robot to smack the snot out of that guy that kept moving his blocks!

2) The launch cadence mentioned in the X above is the reason I wasn't bashing the FWS a couple of pages back. It's not the one launch every month or so for testing that would give me pause. It's the 17 launches a day. I'm fine with them looking into it, but that examination should not interfere with irregular test launches.

On the stream they said to expect another destack to arm the FTS and restack prior to the launch

I presume there are tests they can run that require the vehicles to be stacked? Since they're going to have to destack again to arm the FTS

OK my new date is Monday October 9th.

And if we don't launch then the next guess will be Monday October 16th.

They should try for noon on the 14th. Epic shots with the solar eclipse!

Trying to plan to see the next SpaceX launch at the Cape this week (currently set for Wednesday night).

The faring recovery ship hasn't launched from port yet. Does that point to a delay in the launch?

1 Starship built/day?

I mean, it's audacious to say the least, but...they do have a focus on production efficiencies. For reference, SLS will never ramp past 2 per year (more likely 1 but it's plausible they hit 2 per year with enough billions).

Oh, and I didn't realize they had decided to make the grid fins 'movable' on this one yet. More excitement:

There's a lot going on, clearly. Let's hope some of it includes a launch in a week or so.

SpaceX can probably achieve this. But what about the elephant in the room? The bottleneck is the FAA.
