That's what it means. He has a press contingent assigned to him. So when he has no events nor will talk to the press at a gaggle that day, the reporters are released for the day instead of making them sit around all day.

It means the press pool that is following him has been told there will be no public activity so they can leave instead of standing around waiting all day. It's usually used in relation to the white house press normally, but since there is a campaign, press needs to follow Depends around also.

i absolutely cannot believe they're repeating the same mistakes as 2016. i mean, i get that Biden is old and has 0 endurance. I guess the DNC can't help it if he "won" the primaries though.

as no great Trump fanboy at the time, it was obvious he was out trying to win the vote of the entire rust belt while Hillary was running around California and NYC with her fanbois and ducking any real questions. I can't remember the stat but it was something like 30+ days where she hadn't taken a question from the press.

As many foibles as Trump has, he was relentless during that time and going to places like Detroit, trying to win the black vote and all over the midwest trying to win union votes as a Republican that was labeled a racist.

I think Biden and the democrats just figured that Biden could hide in the basement and let Trump shoot himself in the foot, but forgot how good a campaigner he actually was in 2016.

Oh i'm not kidding myself at all. I know the deck got stacked in his favor. I'm just assuming that it was done legally underhandedly as opposed to illegally underhandedly.

But if the DNC knew that he was going to fold this way and be unable to campaign, it's on them for not backing a different horse. Don't know who that horse should have been.

I still maintain the primary reason for them rallying around Biden is that the Durham investigation found enough for them to go after Biden and even Obama. Pushing Biden to the front lets the Dems hide the coup attempt and Flynn attack behind "can't attack a presidential campaign ahead of the election" theory.

They aren't really campaigning, just letting the media build and throw crap against the wall at Trump. The MSM is Biden's campaign.

when the whole Ukraine thing came up, the MSM completely ignored the fact that Biden dictating policy in a country where is son is employed was troublesome for anybody. nonetheless boasting about a quid pro quo. or associating aid with the removal of an IG of that country... that was investigating the company his son worked for.

no sane, rational person could say that's an OK look.

Nope, they're not going to go the Covid route. I used to think that but it would backfire. His age and medical history would have too many voters thinking "well...he's going to die, might as well vote for Trump or not at all."

After Trump makes his pick Saturday there will be more astroturfing riots, flames fanned by the MSM/Dems howling about Trump not honoring RBG's dying wish. Biden will pop out of his basement early in the morning (before his meds wear off) and say he won't legitimize an illegitimate president by sharing a debate stage with him and therefore all debates are cancelled.

The media will do it's best to carry his water (although it will be a very tough ask) and all the focus will shift to Kamala's debates with Pence.

My running theory here is that the rust belt union machines are not taking DNC calls. And the DNC had relied on them for GOTV for 40 years and the rust belt state DNC officials don't really know how to pivot. Meanwhile, Trump team has continued cultivating for 4 straight years. In this regard its 1984 all over again. I'm not saying it will be the exact same result. Just that the working class union worker has chosen their man and its not the democrat. Which theoretically is the main reason Joe was the person to beat Trump.

This is the most cynical campaign in the history of the country. It is a demonstration that Dems have nothing but disdain for voters, including democratic voters. They are leftist totalitarians, nothing more and given the chance will replace our individual liberty with top down gov't control.

1. The Dems rigged the 2016 primary to ordain Hillary. Screw the Dem primary voters.
2. The 2020 primary was even worse. It's clear the dem hierarchy/Obama's supported Kamala but she was so disliked by Dem primary voters she finished damn near last. So the hierarchy goes all in to get Biden (who is clearly in steep mental decline) nominated and clears the Dem primary field after South Carolina (after Biden got smoked in the Iowa and NH contests).
3. Kamal is then placed on the ticket knowing full well Biden will never finish year 1 if elected.

But - Biden is in such steep mental decline even his limited public sightings are disasters and he can only leave his house several times a month for short intervals. Kamala is so unlikable and untalented she can't even fill the void in the Biden campaign she is supposed to inherit.

It's appalling but there are so many idiots in the Dem party they blindly support the ticket, either too stupid to see they are mere surfs to the leadership or buying into the belief they get to be part of the power structure.
