Yep. ANY deaths were Obama/Biden's fault.
Yep. Invalidated.

Oh well.

Nancy and DeBlasio were calling it Xenophobic while they attended Chinese New Year celebrations, is your memory that short? So they were even opposed to what you are implying was a half way measure.

I'm laughing bc those projections were early and on the high end.

Use common sense and look at our deaths compared to the rest of the world and then have the audacity to say we are doing a good job.

That's a lot of deaths. Particularly when you look at the wars.

These are facts:
Trump implemented travel ban before any other country on the planet. Was called racist, xenophobic, fear mongorer by the ENTIRE Democratic Party.

Testing issues were solely the CDC's fault and those issues were primarily due to China not allowing anyone access to ground zero. i.e. flying blind

Trump listened to "sciencists" that said, "masks will not stop transmission" in February- late April. Zero politicians wore masks until late April, then it became a political tool.

Trump gave guidance for states and said, if you need help call. But you have to call. Every call they received, they answered and got the states what they needed.

The democrats have done absolutely NOTHING constructive this entire pandemic, literally nothing. If you want to see how this pandemic would have gone under dem control, look at NY, NJ, etc and apply it nationwide. If you think for a half second they would have performed even remotely as well as Trump, you need to seek mental evaluation. Trump's early actions that earned him the racist, xenophobic title most likely saved close to a million lives. The democrats would not have ever called for a travel ban.... ever.

Also the "scientists" we are all told to listen to without question told Trump NOT to ban travel from China (essentially allowing non-U.S. citizens to fly to this country). All those scientists now agree that Trump made the right call...the spin that they should have been quarantined or tested more thoroughly is bunk because the scientists didn't even think a ban was necessary.

He did not shut down travel from China he only stopped non citizens from coming. Americans returned from china/overseas in droves and were not tested and were not quarantined as strict as they should have been.
Also the import of goods from China is exempt from the travel restrictions, so we still were receiving goods. Don't get me wrong I think a travel ban is a good idea, BUT the travel ban is a completely overstated action by Trump that really did little to stop the spread.

Also when you said "everyone" was against the travel ban can you please cite comments from Democratic officials or policy makers that said they were against a travel ban? Seeing as you said everyone this should be a relatively easy task.

Here's Nancy out there after the ban reminding everyone how much we shouldn't fear the 'rona:

Oh, early and on the high end. I guess that makes a difference. Let's just roll with it and see how bad it can really be, ok? Who cares what the experts say.

200k deaths in a population of >300mm...yeah, I'd say we're doing pretty good, unless you actually believe the numbers China is putting out.

They didn't call it xenophobic, but Nancy and NYC leadership did go out and encourage people to go to Chinatown in their respective cities after Trump implemented the ban. Don't think for a second anyone in NYC would go out there without the mayor's blessing.

Seems like they were making an effort to prevent a minority population of Americans from being discriminated against amid fear of Chinese people.

At the same time I do see this as disingenuous attempt to undermined trump and his supporters. Nancy and Bill are both willing to sell their souls if it means pissing off trump and his voters.

But again, this is not an outright statement against a ban on china. Just saying people should not treat Chinese citizens like **** because they are scared.

No, they were out pandering as they always do because of "racist" Trump and his racist travel ban! At the same time, they were giving him ammo to use right now when they try to blame him for COVID.

You'd have a point if they didn't oppose 100% of the things Trump has done, or if they didn't spend the better part of 3 years calling him a racist.

Do you always have problems with reality?

The only way I can see you arriving at anything close to those numbers is if you are claiming that anyone with a comorbidity died from that comorbidity, not from covid.

The fact is that covid kills a lot of people directly. Many may have comorbidities, but that does not mean that they died from the comorbidity.

I note how you say "Swine Flu 'complications'". Does this mean that you want to count deaths as the flu that were actually from unrelated opportunistic infections?

The Orlando motorcycle guy's death was corrected when it was brought to their attention.

In the early days of the pandemic when we really didn't know what was happening and there were errors made, it is natural that the projections were flawed. And you want to count the difference between the flawed projections and the actual deaths as Trump saving millions of lives?

Reality, that's funny coming from someone so disconnected from reality that they posts about it on a daily basis.

I'm simply pointing out that only 6% of the deaths are from COVID alone.

The others had and AVERAGE of 2.6 comorbidities....Covid may have caused their death (along with their other health conditions) or they may have died from the other health conditions and had Covid when they died.

Where is the same data for SARS,..you know that same thing was a pandemic but no one freaked out about?

I think that the claim is a bunch of bull**** but am giving plenty of opportunity to show me facts that say that I am wrong about that.

Having one or more comorbidities may increase the chance that you will die from covid-19, but that does not mean that those comorbidities played any role in your death.

If you 70 years old and enter the ICU with covid-19 and die from it, your death is most likely from covid-19, not because you are 70 years old. I can't imagine any circumstances under which being 70 years old would be a cause of death.

So lets see those citations.

The medical experts in January and February said there was no need to worry about it.

The medical experts said we should not wear masks up until May, and then changed their minds.

Trump shut down travel from China in late January/early February. Everyone was opposed to him doing it.

Trump shut down travel from Europe in March, before other countries followed suit.

The medical experts really had no clue what they were doing on the treatment until June/July, when they realized that the traditional means of treating pulmonary issues weren't really the best solution for this.

And yet everyone blames Trump for the government response? Come on, folks. That is absolutely ridiculous. I noticed that NO ONE who is blaming Trump for ALL of the COVID infections and death have actually offered what they would have done different. I haven't heard a single person offer an alternative response for each and every month of this pandemic. NONE.

Plus... once they determined it could be used as a political tool to affect the election potentially in their favor (if they didn't know that all along) the media and dems of course jumped all over it and began to deflect and play the blame game. Nothing like that occurred at all with any of the flu epidemics during past administrations.

The huge difference is this china virus was totally sensationalized on purpose and anyone that cannot see that is being intellectually disingenous.

Lot of good responses from others but here is mine from good old Nancy where she was proposing a bill to take away the president's power to implement travel bans:
