Actually hospitalizations sky rocket in normal years in the area not due to COVID during Sturgis. Part of my old job at the VA was mapping utilization rates at our hospitals so utilization rates are something I'm very familiar with. That said your premise that because these people come from all over means they didn't stick around to be hospitalized there just isn't true..
