I made my own buns.
I'd like to make a quip about your parents making your buns, but I'll refrain.

Hope Benny (and you) had a great American Independence Day!

This is America's Independence Day.

Not Israel's.

GRILL SOME AMERICAN BEEF!
They were on sale!

I am putting grilled onions on it. They were grown in America. And the blue cheese comes from goat farmers in Boone county.

I made my own buns.

You would use bleu cheese. Quickest way to ruin anything is to add bleu cheese.
It is absolutely fabulous with beef hot dogs and grilled onions

OP is looking for things to be grumpy about.

Been calling it the 4th of July since Reagan was President.

Not really, I'm exaggerating how "angry" it makes me. It has always been weird to me though. Carry on.
A few years ago, some guys from our London office were over visiting in June. One of my co-workers was talking about the upcoming holiday and asked them, "Hey, do y'all have the Fourth of July over in the UK?" To which my Brit friend replied, "Yes, it comes after the third of July and before the fifth. If you are asking if we celebrate the American rebellion, then no, we do not celebrate that."

A few years ago I was in Glasgow for 7/4. When the folks I met that day realized I'm American they all wished me a happy Independence Day. It's funny how different parts of the UK feel about events nearly 250 years ago.
