The polls were so wrong in 2016 that they will tighten a lot quicker this time to get closer to reality. I suspect those numbers are actually worse right now for them to put them out this early. JMO

Wow. That Axios focus group info on swing counties and Obama voters in Michigan is pretty damning for the Dems.

I just dont see a scenario where Trump loses FL and OH. If he has MI locked down he doesnt even need PA and WI, but I cant really see a scenario where Trump wins MI but doesnt take PA and probably even WI.

In the Civiqs daily tracking Trump is above 50% job approval in 22 states. In several of those he is 60+. He is 45-49% in 8 additional states. Most of those have disapproval below 50%. He is 40% or more in 38 states.

This is daily tracking in the middle of wall to wall news coverage constantly talking about impeachment. Unless the economy's bottom falls out this guys floor is probably 28 of the 30 states he won last time, which is all he needs. His campaign war chest can spend alot of time and money on securing all 30 and flipping a few others.

Just to be safe, though, the Dems need to learn from Labour's mistake of not going far enough Left.

What the Dem lawyer, Letter, is conveniently overlooking is if the grand jury material indicated someone, including Trump lied, it would have been noted in Mueller's Report and to hell with the OLC opinion about not indicting sitting Presidents. It is a far different thing between a Special Counsel's office saying we think the President committed crimes and actually trying to indict him.

Ken Starr had no problems saying Clinton had committed multiple crimes, citing the statutes by chapter and verse. If very biased partisans such as Weismann and Van Grack couldn't get creative enough to craft a perjury charge out of thin air from the underlying grand jury material, then there's no there there.

That being said, the Dems still have to get past the McKeever case in the DC Circuit Court of Appeals. To do that they have to show the House Judiciary's request falls within the statutory exceptions to grand jury secrecy. Period. Full stop.

Dems are strengthening Trump. So sad.

The contrast between what Schumer is saying in the Senate, "we need more investigation and evidence" and what Raskind (in place of Nadler) saying they have an overwhelming case against Trump, is mind-boggling.
