It's hilarious how the Liberals on here act like this impeachment was some sort of accomplishment. It was completely partisan with no crimes. Literally any opposition party that's ever had the house could impeach the president in this manner. Just up until now the house major has had more than three sane members in its ranks. This impeachment means nothing and will be relegated to the annals of history rightly by the senate. Again, let me remind you as I've posted several times around here over the last few months.
Trump has written about his foreign policy mindset in no less than three published works since 2000. All of them with different titles and all of them essentially talking about how America can be "great again". But he's been very consistent. All of the books over 20 years and even interviews dating back into the 90s during both Bush 41 and Clinton, have a similar position.
His stated policy position, long before Hunter Biden unethically(at a minimum) sat on the board of Burisma while his father was the VP in charge of Ukrainian relationship for Obama, was to withhold aid from corrupt countries AND force allies closer to countries receiving US Aid to pay more to help these countries out.
Trump has spoken about doing this for literally decades.
This all lines up exactly with Mulvaney explanations in the aftermath of the hurt feelings that turned into whistleblowing.
Now, it is very possible that Trump ordered something that is not usually done and might even break some obscure rules or protocols. People around Trump that have done things or seen things done one way, may have freaked out. Chatter may have developed surrounding the orders. Just like it has for hundreds if not thousands of things over three years. And off we go on the charges of corruption, etc, etc.
Here's the problem.
Just because Trump desires to do something different doesn't make it illegal or corrupt in intent. Conversely, just because Trump wants to do something different doesnt mean he can without repercussions or considerations of proper protocol.
But painting everything he does with some evil intent, especially when he's doing things that he clearly laid out he would do, is crazy. The media and the democrats are capitalizing on the ignorance of people in this area. Its pathetic. And its actually not the first time they've done it. They did this during the Bush administration several times. People just forget and the Dems did not take it to the extremes they have taken it with Trump.

The call date isn't the issue. What is interesting is Biden announced his candidacy just a day or two after the big election Shake-up in Ukraine when the past president was replaced and we recalled our not-Trump friendly Ambassador.
