The entire Brett Kavanaugh fiasco was based on events that "could have" happened with absolutely no evidence or corroboration. With a complicit media, "could have" is now the gold standard for feeble minded liberal sheep who want to destroy due process and innocent until proven guilty. The impeachment inquiry is truly a modern day lynching.

Interesting and it's the only thing that has been leaked through this whole Schiff charade.

It's a little over the top and sensationalized for me though. "The Russians are just on the other side of the bridge and getting ready to attack if the US doesn't give them the aid...." It kind of read like a pretty little story that touched on all of the key talking points. I'll give it 24 hours to be crushed like a bug.

And who leaked this to the Post?

Had to have been Schiff, right?

Anything leaked is with Schiff's approval.

This is why he is doing it in secret, so he can control what is leaked out, and in such a way that context is not provided so it will look as bad as he can make it.
"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without blood shed; if you will not fight when your victory is sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may even be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." - Sir Winston Churchill

Some interest quotes in Taylor's opening statement.

Quote:

Also on July 20, I had a phone conversation with Mr. Danyliuk, during which he conveyed to me that President Zelenskyy did not want to be used as a pawn in a U.S. re-election campaign. The next day I texted both Ambassadors Volker and Sondland about President Zelenskyy's concern.
Page 11

Amb. Sondland also told me that he now recognized that he had made a mistake by earlier telling the Ukrainian officials to whom he spoke that a White House meeting with President Zelensky was dependent on a public announcement of investigations in fact, Amb. Sondland said, 'everything' was dependent on such an announcement, including security assistance. He said that President Trump wanted President Zelenskyy "in a public box" by making a public statement about ordering such investigations.
Page 12
Quote:

..[t]he push to make President Zeleskyy publicly commit to investigations of Burisma and alleged interference in the 2016 election showed how the official foreign policy of the United Stats was undercut by their irregular efforts led by Mr. Giuliani.

Remember, Taylor was the recommended replacement by Volker after Yovanovitch was abruptly removed from her post.

That account is out of posts for the day so we'll see if he'll come back with a different one.

That said, Taylor had no first hand knowledge, and just like everyone else, is reporting on hearsay.

Isn't that neat? Taylor took 'contemporaneous notes' of his meetings because he 'knew something was wrong.'

Where have I heard that drivel before? Oh yeah, James Comey said the same kind of crap, almost word for word, when he testified before Congress.

They're literally re-running the Russiagate playbook with different actors this time.

Isn't he the only one that has made claims like this? I know that's the lib/media assumption and spin, but I don't think anyone has testified to this. Seems like it's his word against 10 others that told a completely different story. I have to ask, why?

When are American citizens going to demand that Pelosi, Schiff, & Co. begin having transparency with their "investigations"? Or, if nothing else, just shut up and do their jobs?

If they are afraid because they are up to their ears in corruption then just resign and get the hell out of the country! Venezuela is already the socialist paradise that they want.

The more this crap continues, the more guilty the Dems look, except of course to Etc and his/her socks.

They tried to censure Schiff yesterday, but the Democrats tabled it. There is nothing the minority can really do. And the rules that the Democrats adopted when they gained the minority changed it for the worse.

Fiona hill, top National Security Council advisor on Russian and Ukrainian relations under John Bolton, testified that Giuliani and EU Ambassador Gordon Sondland circumvented the NSC and State dept and pursued a shadow policy in Ukraine on behalf of Trump. Hill said Bolton sounded alarms about Giuliani's involvement in Ukrainian relations, calling him a "hand grenade."

Gordon Sondland, a top Trump donor who became U.S. ambassador to the European Union, said in his opening statement,
Quote:

But I did not understand, until much later, that Mr. Giuliani's agenda included an effort to prompt the Ukrainians to investigate Vice President Biden or his son or to involve Ukrainians, directly or indirectly, in the President's 2020 reelection campaign.

George Kent, deputy assistant secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs, testified that he warned colleagues that Giuliani and his associates were propagating a "fake news driven smear" against Biden and Yovanovitch over Ukraine. Kent also voiced his concerns that he was being pushed out of Ukraine policy in favor of a shadow policy team led by Giuliani.

And in 2012, Obama asked for a quid pro quo to/from Putin to influence that election. Putin got the Crimea. Pretty damn big quid pro quo for Putin keeping things on the downlow until after the election.

Now the word "lynching" is racist because ONLY blacks have been lynched in the US....

wait, nearly 3,500 African Americans and 1,300 whites were lynched in the United States between 1882 and 1968.

Really, outside of Sondland's statement where are published transcripts of all the other for us to read ourselves?

And you edited the statement on Giuliani. The statement said "But I did not understand, until much later, that Mr. Giuliani's agenda MIGHT HAVE ALSO included an effort to prompt the Ukrainians ...."
So you selectively edited the actual statement to try to make your point.

Troll.

Basically dictator Pelosi single handedly decided that nearly half the country is not allowed to have any representation in the House? If the Dims get the Senate will they do the same thing? Somewhere I recall something about "taxation without representation".

So you are happy that as soon as Pelosi was elected speaker she announced that she would not support any Trump initiatives and she would have nonstop investigations until the find something.

Of course Trump must be impeached because the Dems cannot beat him in a fair election.
