Republican rep wants to adjourn hearing because he wants to be in the SCIF. AOC acts all pompous and self important about the importance of this meeting and the senator and governor that are there. Rep basically calls her out for not listening to them pointing out that there was a conflict last week (spoiler, the conflict is intentional by the Dems), and points out that she was the only Dem rep who showed up to the meeting on time.

So not only are the impeachment "hearings" happening behind closed doors, the Dems are scheduling conflicts for the Republicans who are on the committees that could attend.

I heard about a couple who both worked for the Canadian government. When the wife had a baby they both got 35 weeks family leave. During that time she became pregnant again and had the second baby just after returning to work. They then got another 35 weeks leave. Basically both the husband and wife worked about a month and had almost 1.5 years paid leave.

No private company could afford to pay that kind of benefits for non-productive employees.
