Used it (among others) teaching my kids, especially my daughter, when to engage and how to fight.
Important notes:
1 the bully didn't have a large group of support, which is usually the most important part of the assessment
2 the assessment was done during escalation, and before the first punch. There was ZERO hesitation to return the first blow with a haymaker to the face, startling the bully and equaling the playing field instantly. Decisive moves are crucial.
3 once engaged you Do NOT stop attacking until the threat is neutralized. There is almost never more consequences to finishing a fight than there are to starting it - so if you are going to throw, keep throwing.
4) technique wise the cheerleader did really well realizing she could not win if it was force on force (opponent was 3x her size) so she did a fantastic job using her quickness to stay off the plane of the other girl and attack from an angle.
5) and related to #4, but she recognized the importance to stay on your feet and get your opponent off theirs.

Good points. Where I grew up girls didn't fight so this is always so weird to me.
